By now, everyone knows that Trump is scum but his political base remains intact. The rich Trumpers want more tax cuts, the pro-life camp gets their preferred judges while the racist & anarchist nuts love his divisive white supremacist rhetoric. Totally logical so far.
Ironically, the dumbest are Trump’s moderate & supposedly rational supporters who are totally wrong in believing that Trump can keep juicing the stock market or help the economy & save their jobs.
Trump simply inherited a recovering economy from Obama. Fundamentally, the American economy is highly competitive & efficient so Trump did nothing but lucked out as he has most of his life.
Despite having great luck all his life, Trump’s demons & mental deficit keep getting him into massive trouble. The coronavirus could have transformed him into a hero like NZ’s Jacinda Ardern & guaranteed his re-election. All he had to do was sit back & listen to the public health experts.
However Trump’s demons & mental deficit always get him in the end. Trump has screwed up the coronavirus response by hyping miracle cures/ vaccines instead of implementing long established, battle-tested ‘Test, Trace, Isolate’ public health measures. Now he has doubled down on a terrible bet by pretending that the coronavirus will disappear or is relatively harmless (99% claim). He can’t seem to understand that an uncontrolled coronavirus will kill/cripple hundreds of thousands as well as destroy business investments & consumer spending for years to come. No developed economy w/ an educated workforce can thrive alongside a pandemic. Unfortunately, now all of us have to pay the unbearably heavy price for Trump’s demons & mental deficit.
