This SP insists on me getting her uber for our outcall date

We are to meet on the Sunday of August 11th, but she insists on getting me to pay for uber. I asked her why she doesn't take the metro.. She told me that she doesn't want to receive "fake calls." She told me that all I do is download the app, type in her address (in Montreal East) to come to my address (a hotel in West Montreal). What I'm worried about is if she already has a designated uber driver to take the payment through a credit card (or a bank card connected to Mastercard, for instance) without ever coming to the hotel. Has this ever happened? She was very insistent that, for outcalls, this be done. Any thoughts, people? By the way, she's on LL. Thanks.

Around the corner
Never heard of the Uber scam before but contacting anyone on LL is never a safe bet especially if they have no positive reviews on Merb.
It is quite common practice that SP will ask for you to pay for their transportation by Uber on an outcall.

Usually on LL if they want to scam you they will ask for a deposit, perhaps clients have gotten wise to that and now they are trying a new scam who knows, but I doubt it I don’t think Uber works that way, it is usually a driver that is near her location that would answer the call I doubt she can control that.

I asked her why she doesn't take the metro..

It's tacky to expect an escort to take the metro, potentially in heels too... Haha. It's often packed and you don't want her to arrive sweaty!

She told me that she doesn't want to receive "fake calls."

Yes that's the reason why many ask to pay for the uber/transport upfront. I ask for a deposit (or reference or merb handle) for the same reason. Imagine what it feels like getting ready and dolled up, paying for a uber just to be stood up?

What I'm worried about is if she already has a designated uber driver to take the payment through a credit card (or a bank card connected to Mastercard, for instance) without ever coming to the hotel. Has this ever happened?

This cannot happen. Uber isn't her app and this isn't how uber works. The ride request will be sent to drivers in her area and she has no control over which one accepts the rude. Furthermore, if you're the one sending her the uber, you will see the uber's location on the map during the entire ride so it would be easy for you to get your money back if the driver went somewhere else.

Each SP gets to establish her policies. Arguing about them is never a good idea. If you don't want to pay for Uber, you have one move: find a different SP. Judging by the tone of your post (and your suggestion that she take the metro), I'd say things aren't off to a good start with her anyway. If you're uncomfortable enough to post out here, and especially if you're worrying that she may be scamming you, it's definitely time for plan B. Bad moon rising.

At the end of the day you have certain expectations and desires, and so does she. They don't align, and you have both started off your arrangement in a mildly antagonistic way, so it's less likely to end in fairy tale happiness than you'd like. It would be simpler and better to start over with someone else, lay out your expectations in total upfront, find someone with whom those expectations align, and see her. I don't just mean Uber either, although that can certainly be part of it. Openness and transparency is a desirable thing for this type of interaction and everyone concerned will likely be happier for it. I have my do's and don'ts and I'm very clear about my deal breakers up front so that is it's a problem between me and the SP then we know before we even really get started, and nobody's time gets wasted.

I understand this now, Julia. Thanks. I feel much better about this uber service.

Frankly, if you're willing to spend north of 300/400$ to have sex with a girl, asking her to take the metro to come to your place sounds extremely cheap and isn't a good start.
I understand. Not cheap at all. I was robbed two weeks ago for a considerable sum, wining and dining an SP with whom I've had three prior excellent dates. I'm learning the ropes of this industry and now, more than ever, remain cautious.

This is your second thread on the same topic. There were ca. 20 replies in the first one (see below). I apologize for being rude, and I understand that you may be unfamiliar with the technology, but is it really that complicated?

No offense taken. I now have learned more about how this uber works...from the many good comments from the good people here.

Understood. However it was never antagonistic. Armed with the info I've received here, the SP and I will be happy with this arrangement going forward. I think my concerns were about uber, how I thought, quite wrongly I now see, that could be utilized as a scamming tool. I feel much better about using this service.

I never argued with her at all. Things were off to a good start, as nothing has been decided yet. The info received here, especially from Julia about the mechanics of uber, has helped and I will proceed with the date. The girl and I are on very amiable terms. The "tone" of my post was misunderstood by some people here. This certainly will be my last post about uber.

How often does your boss call you in to work just for you to get there and the doors are locked and you get a text from your boss saying "hahahah it's hilarious watching you knock at this random door"?

THE METRO, LMAO.

Please say you’re trolling. Taxi ok but the metro, how about she just hitchhikes to your place
Not trolling. I have learned a lot about how uber works from comments, especially Julia's. The suggestion about the SP using the metro was perhaps unwise to even mention. The SP did not feel offended at all, as she understood the reasons for my reasoning, based on my personal concerns.

Not trolling. I have learned a lot about how uber works from comments, especially Julia's, comments, incidentally, a helluva lot more helpful than yours. The suggestion about the SP using the metro was perhaps unwise to even mention. The SP did not feel offended at all, as she understood the reasons for my reasoning, based on my personal concerns.

Thank you, Julia. I now have learned quite a bit about this uber business. The SP in question and I will proceed with our date.
