Hello Everyone,

Following the heated discussion in another thread and a few comments to that effect recently, I need - again - your opinion on something about how this board is used and moderated.

Do you think service providers should be allowed to start new threads. Please note that I am NOT asking if they are allowed to post, as this is a strong YES, just if they should be allowed to start NEW threads.

Thank you

As an SP, I have started threads in the lounge about things generally relevant to the business, but not advertising for myself, such as information about the fund raising car wash, and the info guide;

I believe these threads are usefull and relevant, even if I am an SP. I would be very upset if I were no longer allowed to contribute.

So I cannot vote because their is no choice that says as long as promotional stuff is kept in the advertising section, and non promotional items in the lounge. (It is not likely that SP's would post reviews :D )

Apart from obvious self promotion, any SP should be allowed to start a thread.

I didn't vote any of the options because they're all too restricting. I am interested in hearing what they have to say on various issues, not just business-related stuff. If they want to promote, then maybe they should post in the appropriate section for organizational purposes, but if they would like to share thoughts on other issues, I'm all ears!

Yes, Let'em post threads. And let them promote themselves as well. We'll take it from there.

As long as the SPs identify themselves as such, I agree 100% with the statement above.

I totally agree with that. There are many men here, but not enough women. Women have a very distinct way of looking at this business, at us their clients, and most things in general, and reading their opinion on any subject is always interresting.

I can't see why SPs should be prevented from starting threads. I haven't seen any reason given here...

Mod2 - Perhaps you can post a link to the heated discussion you are referring to...?

This had become a concern expressed by a few members at some point, but it's been so long I don't recall in which thread/post. Sorry.

You do assume that all women on this board are SP, do you not?
Yes I was, but after thinking about it I realize this was a wrong assumption. Regardless, SP or not, women's thoughts should always be welcomed IMHO. Aren't we all (men) still trying to understand how women think? ;) Centuries have and will pass, and we still won't understand :p

I know a girl on this board who is not SP. But she doesn't post...
There are a number of SPs, ex-SPs, feminine agency owners, and probably wannabe-SPs reading this board. Some of them show an insight that is VERY interesting to re-discover everytime. A few names come to my mind right away: Ronnie, Jackie, Sophia, Samy, and a few others...
