One of the many reasons why trump is unfit to be president. In his narcissistic, zero-sum brain he thinks he must punish his opponents and reward only his supporters and those who flatter him. He is a deeply flawed human with an all-consuming ego who is incapable and uninterested in serving the public in general.
The question who will win the election is now secondary. The main question is if at the current level of polarization, the consensus can be reached to admit winner on the either side without resorting to prolonged legal battle or even violence. Both will be very destructive to the country.

The question of who will win the election is hardly secondary. This election represents the most critical decision the voters will make in the 248 years of the country. When Trump loses there will be chaos and violence. Trump will claim, without evidence, that the election was stolen from him. This will incite violence by his supporters and MAGA state officials will conspire to not certify the vote in swing states won by Harris. Their goal is to keep her from getting to the necessary 270 electoral college votes. If no candidate gets to 270 the election is decided in the House of Representatives with each state getting 1 vote. Even when Democrats have an overall majority in the House, Republicans control the majority of states. If 26 state delegations vote to elect Trump, he becomes president by theft.

I figured that the interviewer would throw grooved pitches down the middle that she could easily handle with word salads, but instead, 60 Minutes showed actual journalistic integrity, asking the tough questions that need to be asked. I wonder though if Bill Whitaker himself thought to ask these questions, or whether he was being a good company man following the script of questions developed by the producers of the show:
