In his address to the congress Trump mentioned wasteful money spending on the “transgender” mice research. It is “transgenic” not transgender. Which means that part of the mice genome is substituted by the human genome to test all kinds of drugs and medical procedures. This all you should know about the level of "competence" of the Trump’s team of “technocrats”.

They are not technocrats, just plain idiots.
Transgenic mice just means introducing new DNA within the genome of a living mice. It can be what you said, but it can also be a modified mouse DNA controlling a foreign gene as the Luciferase gene from the firefly (yes the fly), to find what regulates this mouse gene. Those are essential technics to understand how genes works and of curse cure some disease. Transgenic animal are also used to produce some meds. But with RFK junior at the head of Science in USA the worst is coming.

What kool-aid are you drinking? Lol How is it top notch? Putting tariffs dollar per dollar is a dumb idea. The working class will pay for this and Canada cannot compete with an economy ten times the size of the USA. Trudeau is part of the reason that Trump is attacking Canada, Trudeau mocked him thinking he would not return. After Trump got elected Trudeau had the nerve to say that America made a mistake to not elect a woman. Trudeau also layed out all his cards and basically said that Canada would be nothing without US trade, to which Trump started the 51st state thing.

Trudeau is an idiot, he had the chance to be less reliant on the US. Japan and Germany wanted Canada's natural gas, Trudeau denied them. That deal would have been worth billions that would have been pumped in the Canadian economy. Norway took over and made the deal with Germany to supply them with natural gas and billions will be pumped into their economy. Had Trudeau made the deal Trump's tariffs would have had much less affect on Canada. Bill C69 needs to be scrapped plus he has a carbon tax which is adding to the costs of everything. How can people forget about the carbon tax??

Trump-PP supporter checking in got it

When I said handling things top notch, im talking about his speeches and diplomacy to work with the States and making efforts to not have tariffs AT all.

They signed the deal years ago, and within 2 months Donald has managed to unite Canadians based on his senseless economic war. And to blame our borders? lol

Buddy get off the Trump card its sad

Lol I see you are a Trudeau Liberal supporter. Where did I say I support Trump? Show me in any of my posts where I ever said that?

His speeches are worth nothing. All virtue signalling. I ask again what did he actually do? Did he repeal the carbon tax?? And on April the carbon tax will be going up again as scheduled. Tariffs = Taxes. Has Trudeau repealed Bill C69? Has he stopped his out of control inflationary spending? Not one thing has changed, not one law. On another note, it is funny to see how everyone is freaking out about the tariffs but are okay with 50% of our income being taken in taxes.

Buddy, where did I say I am a Trump supporter? Tariffs or taxes all is bad. Just pointing out that Trudeau did absolutely nothing. Canada is in the state right now because of 9 years of Trudeau-Singh policies. Neither did Poilievre did that and neither did Trump did that. Wake up and come to the real world. Lol

And when are we going to have an election? I rather have a kid from high school who got a C+ in economics deal with Trump then an incompetent sneaky liar like Trudeau. Is Trudeau trying to use Trump's tariffs to stay in power.

I think the Energy east pipeline should be revisited quickly.

For one, right now, the US is dependent on it but knows alberta can't send it anywhere else.
Just the idea that we could cut the tap,( even if it takes a few years) then use it ourselves and export elsewhere would give negotiating power to Canada and security to Alberta.

For two, With wars, going on in the world, Canada having energy security is a very good thing. I also think Quebec & Ontario should find ways to sell extra electricity to the rest of Canada before anywhere else.

For the many who say we have to turn to clean energy. Gas will reduce but stay around for a long time. Having it go through a local pipeline is a whole lot cleaner then having it hauled with trucks trains & ships across the world.

That is exactly what I am saying. Not to mention the amount of money that can be pumped into the Canadian economy, taxes can be reduced. It is a win win for Canadians and businesses. Also do not forget with a east pipeline, the oil can more easily be shipped to Europe.

It's all being reversed:
I think they want to give Canada the chance to do some more and also I suspect they are rethinking the scope. They had already decided to exempt Canadian car exports, although this is not exactly a precious export.
There are no Canadian cars. These are the same American brands made on both sides of the border assembled from the parts manufactured on both sides of the border. It is a completely integrated production.

I think it is more like governors mayors Republican and Democrat and big business and corporations are calling and asking Trump what the fuck he is doing, that this makes no sense.
I doubt he expected Canada, China and Europe react with retaliatory tariffs, perhaps he is not the big dog with the loudest bark after all.
These tariffs don’t make much sense they will just cause misery to ordinary people on both sides of the border and create turmoil all over the world.

Nah. Trump got a lot of pressure from businesses. This is to show how much influence corporations has on the oval office. The big three put a lot of pressure on Trump because the auto industry is interwined with parts going back and forth across the border. On average it would add $9000 extra to a cost of a new vehicle on both sides of the border. Within 15 days the auto industry would be completely shut down. That is why the auto industry was exempt as of yesterday and now this reversal. I also think that Trump is toying with Trudeau.

For stupid Trump, those cars are Canadian because they are assembled in Canada. And for us it is a plus are a lot of Canadian workers construct them. As you said, there is not a single car (maybe Tesla aside) because of the strong integration of this industry. Take Magna, a Canadian auto parts company, the have plants in US and in Canada.

I heard that the final assembly is made in USA at least for the major 3 american companies.
