U.S. Border reopens August 9! What effect do you think that'll have?

So, any Americans been to Montreal lately?

Is it one negative COVID test to get in from the US, and one negative COVID test to come back to the US?

Is this only by plane or by train and car too?

What is the cheapest COVID test on each side of the border, and how much? Or how much did you pay?

Thanks!

My understanding is Amtrak is not running to Canada. Flying back to US requires a negative test.

Here's my recent trip summary. Last 3 below were legit massage. So 11 "hobby" sessions, 14 total. Spent about $2500 US.

3 Agency Euphoria good/good/excellent
1 Agency Vogue excellent
2 Le Penthouse good/excellent
1 Spa Absolut fair
1 Vague Tropicale excellent
1 Mascarade excellent
2 Montreal Nuru Massage good/excellent
1 Intercoupe fair
2 Indie massage excellent/excellent

Good means average/good. Not enough to inspire a repeat. So my batting average for excellent was 8/14 or 6/11 or about 57%. Off-hand without checking, I'd say normal batting average in Mtl for excellent is 80%+. Though in fairness will say some of the "goods" were very pleasant and willing to please. Just didn't click enough with me physically or chemically.

The agency experience was WAY inferior to past trips. Very limited selection of my favorite types - younger, natural, quebecoise, busty, shorter, pretty. And the ones I was most interested in were almost always only available incall. I had trips before where I had at least one "my type" coming to my hotel almost every day. This time I couldn't make it happen even once. Once I resigned to the fact of having to consider incall, I missed out on a "my type" a couple times because I wasn't quick enough and they got fully booked. Another one, I texted XO back 20 minutes later to say OK I'll do incall, and they didn't reply back. For the incalls I did, the traffic was often HORRENDOUS. I was late for a few appointments.

I did 4 unreviewed TOFTT. I feel an obligation to do this and report back on any longer trip. Two of these were good and two disappointments.

I avoided the indies. A few I might have been interested in but they had unacceptable screening requirements. Too much work and compromised privacy.

Highlights: Met up with a friend at a strip club. Had 8 excellent sessions. Checked the box on 5 TDL repeats. Had a great nice surprise at VT. Crazy times at MNM. Lots of good meals.

Overall I put this trip in the bottom 50% of trips I've had to Mtl. Still good, but the bar was set high before.

Mistral, I didn't vary up my delights as you did (stuck to outcall all week) but spent about the same. The agency experience being subpar from previous trips matches my experience. Had a nice time & reviewed nearly all of them, but I've had an even greater time on past trips.
I'll probably go back in December and do an indie-heavy trip.

But being able to go back to Montreal is a gift of its own. Montreal women have ruined my local women for me.

the end of August I traveled to montreal crossint the border from VT st armond/philipsburg . I had up loaded proof of vaccination etc on the arrivecan app , so i started to give the border agent the confo. no. and he said no need he already had my inforon the screen (i believe they match it from my lic plate no. which is one of the questions the arrive can .com asks) and I showed him the neg covid test results on my phone and he let me in with less questions than they used to ask. The really like it when you use the arrive can app.
Ok now I came here Sunday afternoon same border same results but yesterday I received a disturbing email from Government of Canada starts off LE Francais Suit and some of what it says is "you are receiving this email because you recently entered Canada" An emergency order under the quarantine act that applies to all travelers arriving in canada is currently in force. You were informed of this order when you entered canada> (no I was not informed of anything) and it goes on and on.
also note that if you read carefully when completing the arrive can.com app , a hotel does NOT qualify as a place to quarantine.
If I were to become sick while in canada I would get in my car and head for the US border because the US border will allow us citizens in regardless.

I noticed when I filled out the ArriveCan app last week that one of the options for where I would quarantine if necessary was "return home". Another was "hotel". I had already filled out the address of the hotel for my place of quarantine on the previous page of the app, so I just put the check mark next to "hotel" instead of going back and changing the address info, even though returning home was my actual plan.

I noticed that as well. I think it’s meant for Canadian citizens.

Crossed the border again recently and had a completely different experience than last time. The NEXUS lane was open, need I say more? Handed over my NEXUS card, vaccine card, negative COVID-19 test, and my Arrive. Can confirmation code and I was pretty much on my way. There was a little bit of a delay by a phone call the border agent received. My French is pretty much non existent so I had no idea what the conversation was about. But, when the call was finished the border agent told me that the NEXUS lane going back into the USA was closed. So I guess it the call had something to do with me being in the NEXUS lane, but I couldn’t give a shit. I will add to this that I took 2 different COVID tests at 2 different pharmacies. One responded in less than 24 hours while the other one I have yet to hear back from. Just like SP’s, it’s always good to have a backup plan. Anyway, had a great time and I’ll be back during hockey season.

License plate isn't one of the questions in ArriveCAN. They can potentially match by the travel document details entered in ArriveCAN and the actual document presented at inspection.

A hotel in Canada DOES qualify as a place of quarantine to the point that before vaccines were widely available, returning Canadians have been flying to US border town (like Buffalo) and drive/taxi/bus across the border because if they flew directly into Canada, a hotel quarantine was required while if they cross into Canada by lane, quarantine at home is allowed.

I noticed when I filled out the ArriveCan app last week that one of the options for where I would quarantine if necessary was "return home". Another was "hotel". As @thegreatwalooo indicated, the home option is for Canadians. That screen requires a Canada address.

Thanks for the report. Looks like CBSA opened up NEXUS lane at St-Bernard-de-Lacolle effective September 7.

I will be surprise if CBP Champlain open up NEXUS before US non-essentially land crossing restrictions being lifted.

Went thru NEXUS lane recently at Highway 15 and questioning was more straightforward than the trip prior which resulted in a vehicle/personal effect search. Was given a test kit to be done with 24 hours instead of at the border. The test only took 15 minutes instead of previous 30 minute now that I know what to expect/do.

Places using Quebec's QR vaccine checker accepts NY Excelsior Pass PLUS vaccination QR code. PLUS is a recent update and not the original Excelsior Pass. iOS 15.2 can scan this code and add to Wallet.

I'm a little confused. Excelsior Pass PLUS has been around since the beginning. That was the option I selected when I downloaded it 2-3 months ago. I tried having a restaurant scan it 3 weeks ago (first week October) in Montreal and it didn't work.... now I wish I had tried again to see if that was a mistake.

UPDATE Ah, I see what you mean by "update" now. I went through the same exact process in the app as I did 2-3 months ago (same exact option and form), but this time, I got a new pass that says "PLUS" on it). Great tip, will try to use this on my next trip.

Bring regular backup just in case. While the app accepts, the restaurant accepting is YMMV. A couple of places were hesitant to even scan the code in Apple Wallet.

It has been a while and I finally made my way back to Montreal again for a short trip. For this trip, the best agency was Vogue and I hit a triple (Crystal, Romy and Stephanie), next best were Escorts XO with Evelyn and Velvet with Catalina. I had a great time with all of them. Did not get to see any Euphoria or XXXtase girls due to availability and scheduling issues.

Driving thru the border was no issues both ways. I uploaded the vaccination record in ArriveCAN and showed the negative PCR test result on the way into Canada. I was asked only a few perfunctory questions. Coming back to the US was just a couple of the usual questions and a wave thru. Not sure about the restaurants for eating in as I opted for all take outs, but the CDC card and a photo ID got me into a museum without any issues.

FYI If you're into scotch, the duty free on the land border actually has some good prices.

In case anyone didn't know, you must get tested within 1 day for reentry into the US. Not 72 hours anymore.

I almost got screwed coming home on Thursday.

This last trip was trash. Only saw 4 SPs out of the 12 I had booked. Cancellations galore.

Just to be clear, this is only when you fly. Driving across back to the US require no such testing.
