There would be less unhappy members if clients would learn to:
  1. Do their homework
  2. Listen to their intuition instead of their dick (ie LL scams)
  3. Manage their expectations
  4. Take a good look in the mirror (ie look and act your best)
I haven't had a disappointing experience in 9 months. But when I did, I shared it.

Research has already established that people are more likely to leave negative feedback than positive because negative experiences evokes stronger emotions. Generally speaking, most people have little interest in writing anything period (aka the common lurker). Good experiences are generally expected from a transactional experience, hence why most people don't feel a pressing need to write about their positive experiences into a thread that is already filled with them. As LC mentionned, how often do we leave a positive Google Review when we buy something ? Unless the level of service or product greatly exceeds expectations.

Also there is an obvious impact of attracting a larger number of visitors instead of catering to a select few. With the loss of multiple ad sites, this has forced a greater number of visitors that might not even have known about this board before to flock here. Can we really be surprised with the lower quality comments ? These are the same guys that will annoy the hell out of the girls with their bullshit cringy/rude/misogynistic text messages.

Additionally, I really think that pricing has an impact. Not judging what girls ask, I get you don't want to hurt your brand. But this is what happens when the middle class gets priced out and you're left with just the extremities voicing their opinions in such a polarized manner. For example, whenever I've met a girl priced lower who ends up being outstanding would definitly encourage me to want to write more favorable reviews and sometimes even get me to see her twice in the same day. I was more than happy to take the time to review because I wanted her to stick around longer instead of failing her finiancial targets. But I've seen girls priced above the median and with a high number of positive reviews, my expectations were often way to high which would lead me to be dissapointed in what could have actually been a decent encounter.

But reviews have really changed too. I find it much harder now to get a real sense of what I can expect during the encounter. I've always needed more than just a pretty picture, I love the fantasy that can be inspired by a detailed review. Hell, I've often seen girls based on their reviews when their photos failed to get my attention (aka hidden gems?). Does it go too far sometimes? I get why advertisers might not always like it, its not always flattering. But I prefer it over the sanitized reviews that have been encouraged to be written, even the negative ones. I'm not saying to behave like a womanizing imbicile, but don't need to act like a old viagra filled incel either. I miss that middle ground that once was and I remember the reviews to being much higher quality.

Its come to the point where I almost favor negative reviews as being more credible than the over the top repetitive positive reviews from the same guys. Perhaps I've become jaded? I really don't know. But I will admit that the way reviews flow nowadays has definitly contributed to me spending less on SPs and more on actual dates... so thank you I guess? Not :(

This baiseness is about human beeing behavior. Sometimes i ve been ask to write a review, honest review. Inspired positively i may do. Otherwise i won t because first it s very very very touchy sensitive thing to do, and secondly it s my veto that come in handy. Negative review don t help anybody. Like gambling, as a gambler , one try his luck for chemistry or whatever. We could blame others but ... useless, nobody win.

Reviews?
Talk in good
Talk in bad
But talk about me

i don t feel to go there.

Positive reviews is more likely a way to express with words , likely how we express ourselves with our bodies

And then, when you do find that diamond among all the coal, yeah, why would you just openly share that with everybody so they can take the comfortable shortcut while following in your footsteps? A lot of those rare positive experiences are actually shared, but often only in private and only among small groups of members who know each other.
I've always been puzzled by why some members choose to keep gem’s to themselves rather than sharing it with others on this forum. What's the purpose of being part of this community if you're not willing to engage and contribute? I believe being a member should involve sharing and contributing to the community. Personally, I find joy in uncovering hidden gems and sharing them with fellow members, especially to offset those who prefer to keep such gem’s to themselves. It's a shame when members keep these gem’s to themselves, as it shows a lack of generosity that may extend beyond the online world.

There are unhappy people everywhere, I am looking for an all-inclusive and reading lots of reviews, the average will give it a 90% like and you will find someone posting it is a shit hole and complains the customer service person is not smiling enough or they could not get towels one or two days.

The discussion of hidden gems always makes me think of this wonderful quote from comedy What we do in the Shadows,
"Vladislav: I think of it like this. If you are going to eat a sandwich, you would just enjoy it more if you knew no one had fucked it." Lol

I understand both perspectives, keeping something precious for yourself is animal nature.

Wanting to share the gem to help others find the joy you have.

For me there is the fear that a good review draws the wrong attention to the provider. So many negative reviews and overly critical reviewers or it becomes extremely difficult to see them. This was the case for me with one girl I particularly liked, great reviews and booking her became extremely challenging. Great for her, though I missed my time. To be clear I review both good and bad.

I don't think it wrong to keep a gem for one's self, but to hoard gems like some greedy sex dragon is not in the spirit or vibe of merb imo.

Well expressed buddy. From my standpoint, I believe that if you're active on a forum and benefit from valuable information shared by other members, it's important to reciprocate when you have something valuable to contribute. That's my perspective. Ultimately, if a non-member is the one paying for a service from the SP, would you rather have a stranger off the street pay for it instead of someone from the forum? It's astonishing how some people perceive this. Another amusing aspect is that some members selfishly keep gem’s to themselves because they believe they have a chance at a relationship and want to avoid competition. It's quite hilarious.

This does happen all the time though and the rare and hidden gems are frequently shared. Just not necessarily always in public but often only between groups of people who know and trust each other with certain information. At least for a while.

As for the reasons, there are multiple. In my experience, once these gems become more publicly and widely known, there is an unfortunate tendency for the weirdos and freaks to start flocking to them, which then creates a risk of the girl disappearing entirely if she can't handle dealing with that. Then everybody loses.

With negative experiences on the other hand, there isn't really any downside of posting them right away and warning people to stay away from danger, scams, etc. Some membes seem to prioritize posting these negative experiences publicly, which can give the impression that they're overly negative people a.k.a. "unhappy members" although they might not necessarily be.

Around the corner
I guess I am an exception as I have never written a negative review because I have never had a bad experience with any SP I have seen.
Then again I have only seen ones that advertise on Merb and I do my homework.
Yes I have my favourites who I see most often and I tend to repeat with the ones I know I will have a fabulous time with.
i only see Indies. Heaven is the only agency lady I have seen in a duo and it was with and arranged by one of my favourite Indies at my request.
I like the personal contact, I am not much for the assembly line type of atmosphere I see with agencies nor going through a middle man for booking.

In my 15 years in this business i reviewed almost every providers i seen at least once. May had not done it for a few encounters for various special circonstances but that was very rare.

I much prefer to write positive reviews. It was actually part of my fun in the whole "encounter process" that once she left, i would open up my laptop and write a review right away as i was still in the moment and could give the true feeling. Well that was before most providers/agencies switched to incall only. I only written so few negative reviews and obviously if i did that, that mean i didn't had as much fun as i wish i had and obviously thats not what im looking for when i book. I would say my review rate is likely 70% very positive, 20% "positive but had some issues in a few things" and 10% that was more on the negative side.

And yeah i have not reviewed in a while but thats simple, i have not met anyone since October last year. Im a bit on a hietus of some sort. That said lately there is a lot of providers that tempt me to come back. I was originally supose to wait til July, but then i decided likely in May to celebrate my birthday i could... now im tempted to not wait too long and come directly in April lol. But i must admit the traveling part is really "harsher on me" than it was back then. I mean i still love meeting but i find it harder to endure the whole process of before and after (from home to Montreal). But i digress.

This is the kind of answer I was looking for.
Which is actually answering the question I asked.

When it comes to negative experiences, negative emotions tend to linger much longer as opposed to if it were positive. In the context of this hobby, most people are not likely to share their experiences with friends and family members, and this forum is the only place where they can vent. I'm sure many people would also find relief in having their emotions validated by reading other negative reviews of the same SP.

Of course its possible that some of the clients themselves may be the problem, and may need to do some introspection and why they only have negative experiences with SPs. But I like to believe that most of them do have positive encounters, but just overlook the idea or don't consider it important to share their positive experiences.

I do think experiences positive and negative should be shared, as long as we all stay within limits and keep it respectful.

I really don't enjoy writing negative reviews about sps but quite honestly it needs to be done in certain circumstances. There are certain providers that treat clients like trash between cancelling at the last minute time after time. Ghosting or not responding to emails/dms. It's unprofessional and yes, guys are just as guilty with some of the games they play as well. I agree with a previous post about how I often receive multiple dms from other clients telling me about how they're experience with the same sp was similar and that they didn't want to write bout it cause of the negativity. Another poster mentioned that there are merb members who only post negative reviews...this to me is a red flag. Now I've met some really awful sps in my life but I've also met some amazing as well. It should work both ways. If all you do is come on here and bash the ladies review after review then your reviews can't personally be taken seriously by me or others imho. Quite honestly I've given back my best to this community over the years and the most contributive info that has received the best feedback are the negative few I've written
