Hello all,

So this is the woman who wanted $800? Really? She's cute, and nicely shaped, but she doesn't visually measure up to average Montreal HDH standards. I wouldn't pick her at all.

And sometimes a 'fuck-up' or a 'blunder' is the only way to put in place a new 'way' of working, or a futur step that the public can only 'abide' to or to get rid of something.

There has to be more than what we hear about and probably has nothing to do with politics.

I'm not sure what you meant, but those in institutions that have been around as long the Secret Service tend to think they are invulnerable, entitled, and can get away with a lot. The fact that agents sent in advance to make arrangements for the President thought they could order horizontal take out at the same time is a breech of professionalism beyond reason. It does show something very mentally wrong.

Blunders like this Colombia scandal will bring the Secret Service agents back to reality...for a while. But if so-called highly trained professionals will screw up so bad when they are supposed to be securing the Presidents safety, then anything can happen.

carumba,

That was for the whole night if I remember the NY Times article. Maybe he should have haggled before going hot. Anyway, for nice people like us I'm sure she would not charge so much!

Surprisingly, my female professional colleagues in the office argue that if the Hobbying had occurred in a "first-world" ally country, it would be OK.

We should ask those who are shocked what they think about the poor souls who sell their bodies as bullet-shields for rich people.

To me the fact that they got drunk seems much worse security-wise compared to taking some company to their rooms. If they were going to sleep in their room anyway, who cares, so long as they don't have a hangover to do their job.

Agreed. These guys were there to case the joint -- sniff out explosives and other mundane but important and life-and-death tasks; but they need to be 100% alert and ready to go when duty calls. I wonder if the alcohol they drunk were spiked with cocaine. Now, that would be scary. They should be given some slack -- they will take a bullet for their protectee, regardless of who that person is. That part of the job is second nature to them. That should have counted for something when their punishments were being considered. I hope they don't lose their pensions and benefits they did work hard to earn. Hell, they got laid and one dude was too cheap to pay up (or was still too drunk or was set up). And sometimes sleeping with SP's can lead to a better understanding of the streets that these dudes were there to guard against. Some prostitutes probably know more about shit than the local police.

There may be a lot we do not know, but it makes no difference. It is final outcome and perception that is damaging to the reputation of the President and the United States.

Only in the US, I guess people can try to put this on Obama's fault once again.
Outside the news are... this has nothing to do with him and his reputation.
On the contrary.

Just like for Clinton when we (outside of the US) were all thinking the same...."Don't tell me that it wasn't staged in trying to get his a$$.... I mean... Lewinski keeping the dress...? Yeah sure ! "

Santa Claus also keeps the same outfit for a hundred years right ?

The final outcome might be measured in the States... but outside the US, this is a storm in a teacup !

The real outcome has surely nothing to do with the presidency.

Wait and watch.... I bet it has to do with 'switching positions' for these guys.
Just like on the chess board !

I am not shocked by their conduct. I know what I would be doing if I ever went to Columbia and I know what I do everytime I venture outside of the United Sex Prisons. Remember when all those Marines at the US Embassy where caught sleeping with russion hookers in Moscow? Did they ever prove they were spies?

Is it too late to just pay her the 800$?

They finally paid her about 200$, but that was after the cops were called. I think that's the real scandal, having the local cops involved to verbalize some secret government agent that's supposed to be highly trained at dealing discreetly with delicate situation.
Austin Powers would be ashamed.
Oh, behave, baby!

Hmmm,

It doesn't seem like much of anyone is blaming the President for this. Even leading Republican Presidential candidate Romney specifically said he didn't blame President Obama. Of course as usual, Romney no doubt had his finger up to see which way the political wind was blowing, but it tells you something of how the country feels when the top Republican candidate won't go there.

It's not the drinks that pump you for information, go through your pockets or equipment looking for info, or create embarrassing scenes. It's the women that are the great potential for trouble. Drinks only make it easier. Without the drinks the women can still cause every bit of trouble they might wish to.

"King says one of the resigning employees stayed at the Hilton in Cartagena, the same hotel where President Barack Obama stayed. The other Secret Service employees stayed at a nearby hotel."

Wow, they brought it that close to the President. I don't think Secret Service agents can be court-marshaled, and they're damn lucky on that too. It's incredible how far some of these guys went toward destroying their own lives. I wonder if burger joints would take them now?

In another incident involving U.S. security forces and prostitutes, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Tuesday three Marines on a U.S. Embassy security team and one embassy staff member were punished for allegedly pushing a prostitute out of a car in Brasilia late last year after a dispute over payment.

So that incident is not so isolated.

Hopefully then... this will stop making headlines soon... for there is way more important things happening.
Unless it goes on and on and on like so many of those news before until the wind changes.
