^^^^^ Perhaps some ANTIFA members joined.
No that's not antifa. It's NED/CIA backed terrorists, literally.

Woudln't surprise me if this was planted by police in order to escalate. Imagine being in front of millions of protesters, police officers are not equipped for this... they will fail.
Pretty sure they want to bring in the army... its just a question of time until a full massacre occurs.

Sad times we live in.
Please compare the BLM protests/police violence in the USA with the police in HK lol.

Fake news propaganda

Wake up Albacor. The Chinese Government is using their political weight and money to attempt to put a muzzle on free speech right here in the U.S. Did you not read about the NBA/Hong Kong scandal.
Just a few years ago the Chinese Government went total safe space mode when a Univ. of Maryland student of Chinese descent gave a commencement speech criticizing the lack of clean air in China. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...eech-at-a-u-s-college-then-came-the-backlash/
Well it's business as usual. If a celebrity is too vocal about certain issues, he/she
might not get that pepsi deal either. Why is it a scandal? Lol.

Okie ..... Back to the topic at hand - yeah, little mention of the HK protests. No country really cares enough & r too afraid of China.

Draconian National Security Law passed & imposed by China and all the UK has done is utter a few stern words & offer UK citizenship to Hong Kong citizens. Nice offer but I doubt that it’s serious. Boris Johnson will be sure to water it down once his supporters realize that it could mean hundreds of thousands new immigrants.

Anyway the UK committment to HK has always been bullshit, they first got their colonial foothold in HK after flooding China w/ opium & then starting a war when their drug smuggling activities got stopped. The UK then proceeded to use HK to milk China mainland money while treating the locals like second class citizens. To be fair, they were better colonial masters than the other European powers esp. Belgium in Congo where Leopold II presided over massacres, forced labor & hacking of important body parts when quotas were not met.

The totalitarian, communist government of China (the country that gave us the Wuhan virus and spread it around the world while denying its responsibility) has sentenced three brave, young protestors from Hong Kong to prison. There can now be no doubt that China has completely taken over Hong Kong and egregiously violated the treaty that it made with the UK in the 1990s.

China and its governing communist party are not be trusted on anything. Unfortunately, given the reality of the world's dependence on manufactured goods made in China, it's not possible for western countries to isolate themselves completely from China and its economy. But it's time for free countries to open their eyes to the reality that China is not a dependable partner. To the extent possible, companies and governments in free countries should pull back from their involvement in China and shift their focus to more reliable partners in Asia and elsewhere.

I would like to see Biden propose that the U.S. join the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement (which does not and should not include China). Trump did not support it and that was a mistake.

I would not hold my breath. And I certainly would not expect Biden to stand up to China in any meaningful way, not after he and family made untold millions (billions?) off it. Not to mention Biden's (proposed) cabinet members, who had their hand in the pot too and are now amusingly trying to cover their tracks.
In any case, Hong Kong is gone, sadly. Now I suppose it is more about Taiwan. My Taiwanese friends are nervous, to put it mildly.

At the Yalta conference Stalin was able to outmanoeuvre the US and take the East of Europe because the US had a feeble and confused old president.

China is similarly dangerous now but the US is better positioned! The incoming president is sharp as a tack and finished top political science student of his class!

Oops, just checked Biden’s claim about his studies and turn out they were false ;). They date from his
1987 run for president.

Sen. Joe Biden claimed during a campaign appearance in New Hampshire last spring that he finished in the top half of his law school class, although records indicate he finished near the bottom.
...
He revealed last week that he committed plagiarism in law school and took a course over to make up for the error.
...
Biden went on to say, ″I went to (Syracuse) law school on a full academic scholarship.″

The records he released last week indicated he had a $800 scholarship from the school out of a total tuition of $1,620 as well as $1,000 in room and board from his work as a residence adviser in a dorm and student loans.
″I won the international moot-court competition. ... I was the outstanding student in the poitical science department (as an undergraduate). ... I graduated with three degrees from undergraduate school ... And I’d be delighted to sit back and compare my IQ to yours if you’d like, Frank,″ Biden told the questioner.
The tape was aired April 10 and 12 as part of the network’s ″Road to the White House″ series, C-SPAN spokeswoman Nan Gibson said.

Newsweek magazine said Biden does not mention the moot court competition on his resume, and did not win the political science award at University of Delaware, where he received a single B.A. in political science and history.

Interesting parallel with Yalta. Things are obviously very different this time around. FDR was indeed confused and had some bizarre infatuation with Stalin, but even so I suspect Stalin had more respect for him than Xi currently has for Biden. With FDR it was probably more ideological, he may have felt that his New Deal had something in common with Stalin's communism or whatever. With our current uncle Joe, it is simply business, dollars and cents for himself and his family. One way or another, there will be no grand conference this time and Xi won't be asking for Biden's permission if/when he decides it is time to do his Anschluss.

Proving once again that communists can never be trusted, the Chinese Communist Party continued its brutal anti-democracy campaign against Hong Kong by arresting 50+ pro-democracy leaders.

Hong Kong is now officially no different from any other city in China. The Commies have made a mockery of the treaty that resulted in the1997 handover of the former British colony to China. If I were a resident of HK and I had the means to get out now and go to a free country, I would flee as fast as I could.

Hong Kong police arrested 53 people in dawn raids on democracy activists on Wednesday in the biggest crackdown since China last year imposed a security law which opponents say is aimed at quashing dissent in the former British colony.

Hong Kong’s most prominent pro-democracy advocates were arrested in raids on 72 premises as the authorities said last year’s unofficial vote to choose opposition candidates in city elections was part of a plan to “overthrow” the government.

The arrests were linked to an unprecedented, independently organised and non-binding vote to select opposition candidates for a since-postponed legislative election.

About 1,000 police took part in the raids, which included searches of the offices of a pollster and a law firm.

“The Chinese Communist Party has further turned the screw in Hong Kong,” said Chris Patten, the last British governor of Hong Kong. “Liberal democracies around the world must continue to speak out against the brutal destruction of a free society.”

Patten said the West should get tougher with China and scolded the European Commission for seeking a trade deal with Beijing...
