Drouin takes leave of absence from Canadiens

Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin, who missed the past three games with a non-COVID-related illness, is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team for personal reasons.

Do you think he is depressed about his statistics? While 2 goals in 44 games is depressing, it's not the end of the world. There are other jobs in the world besides hockey anyway.

..well as a Québécois playing here in Montréal la pression is ENORMOUS en regard des attentes......and lately the medias and social networks have been very very rude---tough on him....i really think he needs a break...IMHO.
Les Québécois ont la mauvaise habitude d'être plus exigeant--critiques envers les joueurs d'ici que les autres.....that's why many Québécois players will prefer to play for another team.....sad but true reality.

Jonathan was in Tampa and ask for a trade ... Montréal fans and Bergevin thaugh it was a good bargain ... Drouin and other player that come to Montréal know about the pression ... He could have ask Scott Gomez about it. Drouin have more skills and better hands then Gallagher , Gally always put the effort , If Drouin will have put some effort and his hart people will have not be so hard at him ... Drouin is at 5.5 millions and if I don't mistake he still have 2 more years.

Danault refuse 5 millions he asking more
Denault have 4 goals this season
Toffoli 4,250,000 millions

Drouin last 3 season 29 goals
Drouin this season 2 goals
Toffoli this season 25 goals
Perry 35 years old this season 9 goals

I know player are human
But it's sport professional
Event when drouin is 100 % healthy he does not helping is team , the guy is playing power play ...

Let's see how much Danault will get
If he get 5 millions and more
He will be the next one having a break up ...

Drouin has been mismanaged since he arrived in Montreal, he hangs on to the puck way to long and is always looking to pass as his first option when he should be looking to shoot more, this year his confidence has been shot, he is a very talented player who once won the fastest skater competition at the NHL All-Star skills competition, he just needs to be coached better(IMO).

He had a good coach in Tampa he ask for a trade ... Mete and byron , are fast skater
and this year it did not give them nothing ...

Mete is now in Ottawa
Byron is not the same since is concussion

Drouin don't put the effort and he his not willing to pay the price , he won't go near of the goal where he will get hit , so he his shooting far away and won't fight in the corner fuck the puck . Gally , Toffoli, Perry
are not the fastest player and still score goal.

Drouin have is responsability
Talent his not just enough you have to work for.

Toffoli ,Anderson and Perry have 50% off the Habs goals you can't blame the coach for Danault having 4 goals and the other guy's not doing noting except Gally.

You could be the fastest skater in the Nhl
But if it end up to nothing ... It's like seing a F1 race and see a driver having the fastest turn but finish last for the race.

I have to agree that Montreal have a bad record for developing there young player
But I don't see Drouin putting alot of effort

Drouin is probably the creator of social distancing ... because this is what is doing when he go to the corner for the puck ...

I think that Joe Drouin days are over in Montreal ...
