"Bush's War" and "No End in Sight" were also very good documentaries that came out a few years ago. Highly recommended, not to be missed.

2016 Obama's America...not so much...15%.
I beg to differ, Doc. Say what you will about it's content, "Triumph of the Will" is about the best propaganda film ever made. From the reviews I've read, D'Sousa's snoozefest wouldn't convince an empty chair. It's not much difference than Hitler's Nazi party's own "Triumph of the Will" propoganda film, which came out in 1935.

Another Ronald Coleman classic that i adore is the Charles Dickens classic "A Tale of Two Cities".
I saw "Flight" with Denzel Washington yesterday. I must say it is an extremely well done but ultimately a very sad film. Denzel plays a commercial pilot who stages a miraculous crash landing of a Jet which malfunctions in mid-air, saving the lives of the majority of those on board. Unfortunately this heroic act is performed while Denzel is legally intoxicated. We soon learn that Denzel is an alcoholic who tries but is unable to quit drinking, with tragic results for him. The movie focuses mostly on Denzel's struggle with his alcoholism. I found it to be one of the more realistic portrayals of alcoholism that I have seen on film.
Denzel's performance is amazing, and so is that of the supporting cast which includes John Goodman as Denzel's drug supplier/enabler, Bruce Greenwood as the union Chief, and Don Cheadle as the union lawyer who ultimately defends Denzel against possible criminal charges.
It's worth mentioning to Latina lovers (Special K take note) that Nadine Velazquez has an amazing full frontal nude scene at the very beginning of the movie. Nadine plays the stewardess that Denzel is banging during his flight crew's layover in Orlando before the ill-fated flight. Her body is totally smoking and she even has a little patch down below which I thought was all but extinct these days. Consistent with his drinking, Denzel is seen sporting a beer gut in various scenes during the movie.
I am probably going to see the early show of Argo this afternoon and then come home to watch the Giants-Steelers game.
I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie.
havent seen the new James Bond movie yet.
is John Goodman in it?
I saw the "The Amazing Spider-Man" movie circa 2012 with Adrew Garfield & Emma Stone. This movie was much richer than the original with greater possibilities for additional story development. The acting was superior with Emma Stone & Sally Fields performances being outstanding. The lizard part was a bit weak and not convincing. The main reason for the "re-boot" on this one seems to be an improved abiity for future developement of the franchise.

I saw this one at the theatre, or rather, I saw part of it. I walked out about 45 minutes is; what a snoozefest. Mebbe I'm just not a fan of sic-fi.Also watched John Carter this week on MPix and it was much better than I expected seeing as how it bombed at the box-office. Fans of sci-fi should enjoy it.
So you were not on the edge of your seat in Saving Private Ryan, Gettysburg with the scene of the 20th Maine on the Union Left andPickets Charge, Midway, Tora, Tora, Tora, Alive, The Memphis Belle, We Were Soldiers? Come on Beave you know how that works out too? It's a true story and you know in advance how it is going to turn out, so it is impossible to be on the edge of your seat, unless you are willing to believe that Ben Affleck has the power to completely alter history as we know it to be. .
Second, the historical inaccuracies disturbed me, most significantly the movie's assertion that the houseguests were "refused" by the UK and New Zealand embassies. This assertion is totally false. I heard that the UK Ambassador to Iran was livid about this distortion of the truth. In reality both countries were very helpful and not giving the USA the "cold shoulder" as depicted in the movie.
I read that Ben Affleck has been very defensive about this particular inaccuracy in press interviews and has said in the movie's defense "we needed to make it believable that these 6 US citizens had no place to go." I realize that with any historical drama the facts need to be changed or embellished, to create drama, but usually it is a good idea not to insult one's western allies when doing that.
