Same here bro, I have never been with and I will never see a prostitute, I only see escorts for their time and companionship which will continue to be legal, any sex that goes on between us is consensual.

OK, but as I understand it, an undercover cop could offer sex, then arrest you when you agree to pay for it, and testify against you in court. She/he would claim that the only reason you sought companionship was because you could get sex in return for money. Do I have that wrong?

Under the new law it seems that a hooker could stand in a parking lot in an industrial estate under a sign saying "I sell sexual services" and be within the law. The guy who goes up to her and agrees to her price is breaking the law. How does this make any sense?

Not so, the girls that I will see will be someone with a reputation, someone referred to me by a legitimate source such as MERB which I fully expect to still be around, I really see nothing changing drastically for agencies, they might have to alter a few things in the way they advertise but I expect business will go on as usual, we don't even know if this law will even pass at this point but even if it did, nothing changes for us hobbyists , we will continue banging some of the world's finest escorts IMHO, you can't ban escorting and you can't ban sex, it is virtually impossible.

Joe T. I agree, the sex trade will be around forever in one form or another. Also, no new law will stop you privately contacting an escort you know to be legit and paying for her services. However, the Nordic model claims to go after Johns. I'm trying understand how this may work out in Canada. It's foolish to think there won't be some changes as a result of a new law. Obviously the government has something in mind, and police forces will be expected to change their operations accordingly. My point is that it might become riskier for clients to be casually phoning escorts and discussing details of price and services offered.

Yeap, Hobby will continue but in poor conditions : higher rates, hard to find info about the girls, less girls, way riskier, impossible to discuss the service before...

Here's a strategy:

1. The SP pays you 125 dollars at the beginning of the hour to have sex with you.

2. You have mind blowing sex and you are immune.

3. She wants to stay another hour, and you pay her 425 dollars. Now she is immune.

4. You have mind blowing sex even better than before.

5. You have a broken calculator so you don't really know how much the mind blowing sex cost her or you. But you are both SP's and both immune.

DD41, you are also both clients. Being immune while selling does not make you immune while buying.
On a similar note, two escorts that refer clients to each other are both considered to be pimping each other and could be arrested for that.

And hi Siocnarf if your interpretation is correct and it stands in the adopted Bill and is enforceable law It will create a Pandora's box ,a willing percipient to a crime with total immunity from prosecution by law
The prostitute is not considered willing, that is the trick. She is considered incompetent to give consent, like a consenting minor in cases of statutory rape.

Mr. McKay can grab that child, run up to the hooker in your example with the child in tow, and say Gotcha, you are under arrest. And he call us perverts.
Shouldn't there be a provision against people who bring children in the presence of prostitutes plying their trade? In that case Mr. Macaque should also be arrested.

Seriously according to that child provision, hotels and private apartment complexes would be out of bound. So any escort could possibly be arrested while walking to her date.

this is more than just premature talks. a bill was proposed, it still need to be debate and vote. if it goes through, it'll be up to the lawmaker. and around that time, it'll mostly be challenge by sex workers and the likes which we can be pretty certain it'll go to the supreme court. after all that, the law needs to be apply which will need coordination between law enforcements and governing bodies.

pessimist view: we're looking at at least 18 months before anything happens
optimist view: it'll never see the light of day or it'll be years (like 5 or more) before we run for the hills

The supposed success of the "Nordic model" is just feminist propaganda. They want us to believe that prostitution has been eradicated in Sweden thanks to this genius legislation. But just google "Stockholm escorts". You get hundred of websites full of beautiful Swedish women. LOL!

Birds,, you're not kidding!!

The Stockholm 'Backpages' is filled with ads and most of the women show their FACES!!

So McKay is too dumb to do any research, what a douche-bag.

If I get busted I am going to say that I am a male gigolo. I was walking up and down the street not in pursuit of prostitutes but rather walking "with" the prostitutes selling my own wares. I will wear a lot of gold and a silk shirt unbuttoned to my navel.

They will force you to attend re-education and self-esteem classes. Better just go to jail; it will be less humiliating. Anyway, there's plenty of ways they can arrest or harass prostitutes. The new law protects prostitutes like the Soviets protected Poland.

I prefer a 6h of hilarious re-education class, to a 1000$ fine. And I really would like to see how they will re-educate me ? An exorcism ?

"That's the demon inside of you that love sex with hotties, In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and all of his prudish government saviors, I command you, evict this body and return back to the bowels of hell from whence you came !"

Simple. Instead of flying once a year to Bangkok- I will now go there 3 times a year.Sure, the 16 hr flight is a byatch but I survive thinking of all the tails I'll be getting once in there.

P4P in Montreal is overrated, IMHO, specially after the retirement of many stars the last few years. So, the cops and the politicians can SHOVE IT. I would have been more concerned if this law passed 5 years ago when Marie Eve, Michelle, Jessie, etc., were working.

From now on, I will only spend my hard earned money where I am treated with respect (not as a criminal) and where my $ goes a long way.

Ta gueule, Quebec and Canada!

Look behind you.
You all are going to get an ulcer worrying about this, enjoy what you have here and " if " the time comes there will always be a plan B. The best idea I have seen so far is Hungry's gigolo idea.

What, is this serious? I haven't heard about this one before. If that's true, then it's hilariously sad.
They have that in some countries, for prostitutes or clients. Usually the social help they give prostitutes is contingent on them stopping that work and taking some of those classes. So they have a choice between being social outcast or starving.

Gents,

As an American who has always had to deal with these types of laws I'm going to party with the escorts even more. With all of you guys panicking like chickens with a fox in the coop and running off elsewhere...demand will be way down...the ladies will be much freer....prices will drop...I'm going to have my pick of the best at far less cost. Many thanks guys. :thumb: :D

I mean really, what are the chances of getting nailed using Incall at random hotel rooms if you handle it right. Other than that I'm telling the cops all I wanted was a naked pizza delivery girl and a nice chat. It's not my fault the pizza is $200 a shot.

Cheers,

Merlot

There will be an amendment to treat pizza as prostitution paraphernalia. Pineapple on the pizza will be an aggravating factor. We don't want our children seeing people eat pizza in our hotels.
