Hello all,

I like energy ...soul ...heart ...spirit ...music that makes one feel a drive to live ...music that can generate great passion from great simplicity. It can be of long whispering subtlety or driving bombast ...but, it's best when it takes one's breath and provides a feeling of being transported to a more alive state of mind.

Anything from Mozart to Metallica for me. I don't believe in clinging to a style, I just believe in what makes me feel more appreciation of life.

Cheers,

Merlot

Around Montréal...
I like any good music who is able to touch me.

The style is not limited; there's music I like less, and others I like more easily, and in those, I am having a big crush for blues, rock and musica para bailar. (music for dancing)
Some pieces of classical composer make me instantly happy, like Mozart & Bach, and I like soft & medium metal also. (not into the "too much black or speed")

I just like to discover, and that's nice to read your recommendations.

I'm what you would call an '' eclectic listener ''when it comes to music. When i workout ,bands like Slipknot,Mudwayne,Korn,The Offsprings or Rise Against are some of my fav's.I find that Pink Floyld is the best band to listen to when it rains.I also enjoy house music when i go for a run.Lately i have been listenning to lot's of bands like NIN,Massive Attach,Portishead,Tricky,Radiohead,etc...

I try to keep an open mind...I can enjoy different styles, from Bob Dylan to System of a Down, and everything in between: Old rock (Stones, Doors, Santana), Progressive Rock (Genesis, ELP, Yes), Grunge (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden), Electronic music (Chemical Brothers, Prodigy), Acid Jazz (Medeski), Trip Hop (Portishead, Massive attack), Radiohead (a style of its own), and indies such as Cage the Elephant. Zappa is cool too...As is Neil Young.

I love metal...From Sabbath to Godsmack...I think Korn is a great band... Metallica was good back in the days and Slayer too

Nine Inch Nails is my all time favorite, with The Floyd... I still enjoy those 15 to 25 minutes long musical masterpieces the Floyd crafted in the late sixties-early seventies (such as Echoes...Yes, this means I took a lot of drugs in my twenties :hippie:)

The only things I can't stand are stupid Gangsta Rap and Country...But then again, Rap can be good and I love Neil Young, even when he goes country

If you like rock and roll and or comedy, dont miss Steel Panther at the Imperial in Quebec City friday night, (they are amazing live) they also play Heavy MTL on saturday at Parc Jean Drapeau. The show in QCity will be longer and better in a small venue like that..... a few of us are making the drive up to beautiful Quebec City for the show, if going send a pm and we can all have a drink and say hello. If not, enjoy the show anyways!

I think that's just more of the typical crap being passed off as music today. They made a 'controversial' video to get attention that the music is not good enough to get on it's own. If anything, it sounds like a retread of music Prince was doing decades ago. It's just more throwaway pop like most of what comes out these days.

I'll take some Allman Brothers or some Sabbath or Zeppelin or CSNY or some Floyd over any of the interchangeable, generic shit being pumped out by the recording industry these days.

If all you want is some hot naked women in a video, at least go for something decent.
