What music do you love?

[GaryH]

Anyone interested in some new music? 78 year old Paul McCartney has collaborated with 25 year old Dominic Fike on a new song "The Kiss of Venus". While many older people (me included) sometimes look down on today's modern music, McCartney has always listened to and encouraged younger artists. Here we have a very modern sounding song but with all the lovely familiar McCartney melodic hooks. And cool lyrics:

Have you (Oh, I asked you) read the paper? (Oh, I asked you)
People talking without no education, yeah
Look, go to college (College), go find your major (Major)
Realize you're minor in the scheme of everything

Looking for love in the age of COVID. This song is dope.

Supertramp, Don't leave me now

I hadn't heard this piece in so many years. It's a masterpiece.
Such emotionally charged song musically and lyrically. Ephemeral and eternal at the same time. Supertramp is a great band. Phenomenal song.

Roxy Music were an English rock band formed in 1970 by Bryan Ferry—who became the band's lead singer and main songwriter—and bass guitarist Graham Simpson. The other longtime members were Phil Manzanera (guitar), Andy Mackay (saxophone and oboe), and Paul Thompson (drums and percussion). Other members included Brian Eno (synthesizer and 'treatments'), Eddie Jobson (synthesizer and violin), and John Gustafson (bass). Although the band took a break from group activities in 1976 and again in 1983, they reunited for a concert tour in 2001, and toured together intermittently over the next few years. Ferry frequently enlisted band members as session musicians for his solo releases.

The Clash, London calling

The Clash were an English rock band formed in London in 1976 as a key player in the original wave of British punk rock.
They also contributed to the post-punk and new wave movements that emerged in the wake of punk and employed elements of a variety of genres including reggae, dub, funk, ska, and rockabilly.
For most of their recording career, the Clash consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Joe Strummer, lead guitarist and vocalist Mick Jones, bassist Paul Simonon, and drummer Nicky "Topper" Headon. Headon left the group in 1982 and internal friction led to Jones' departure the following year.
The group continued with new members, but finally disbanded in early 1986.

Sol - I saw him 2 years ago at the Montreal Jazz Festival. He announced that he had a degenerative muscle condition that was causing his muscles to waste away and that he soon wouldn't be able to play guitar anymore. He did sound great that night though.

I love how music Bring you back in time, you can remember exactly how you felt at a that specific moment you heard the song. It remember me of my Sunday morning when my dad was cooking a big brunch for the familly while listening to U2, the music was so loud that it would wake us up. But it’s good memories. ❤️

Beautifully said. So many songs that bring back so many memories. Music can comfort you when you're sad and enhance your joyous moments. Music is Love.
