Good one on "We Gotta Get You a Woman." Regarding "I Saw The Light", that song was getting heavy air play on rock stations when I was in high school and remember it. That was probably Rundgren's second biggest hit after "Hello It's Me." The rock radio station I listened to at that time regularly featured Rundgren back in the late 1970s. Todd certainly made his mark in the 1970s as both a musician and a producer and I agree he is very deserving of rock Hall of Fame honors. I am actually very surprised he is not already in, in light of some of the people who are in. I would put him in ahead of J. Geils Band which has been lobbying for selection and I believe JGB is the most nominated act to have never gotten in. They have been nominated 5 or 6 times with nothing to show for it. Rundgren's overall contributions as musician/producer put him on a different level than JG Band.

Morning dew was written by a Canadian.
On July 7, one of the true legends of Canadian folk music, Bonnie Dobson, will be honoured at the Mariposa Folk Festival, when her most well-known composition, “Morning Dew,” will be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Dobson first performed “Morning Dew” at the inaugural Mariposa Festival in 1961, launching the song’s journey to becoming an international standard. Here is an excerpt from my book Whispering Pines: the Northern Roots of American Music (ECW Press, 2009) that tells the story, along with five notable versions of “Morning Dew.”

Truth is the debut studio album by English guitarist Jeff Beck, released in 29 July 1968 in the United Kingdom on Columbia Records and in the United States on Epic Records. It introduced the talents of his backing band the Jeff Beck Group, specifically Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, to a larger audience, and peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200.

This song has been covered by many artists, Nazareth, Robert Plant, The Grateful dead, Long John Baldry, The Allman Brothers, Lulu.

54-40 is a Canadian alternative rock group from Tsawwassen, British Columbia. The band take their name from the slogan "54-40 or Fight!", coined to express the unsuccessful expansionist agenda of James K. Polk's presidency, which was intent upon controlling a contested U.S.-Canada border area in the Oregon boundary dispute. 54-40 has had a successful career, with four of their albums being certified Platinum in Canada. Doyle Bramhall II (born December 24, 1968)[2] is an American musician, producer, guitarist, and songwriter known for his work with Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, and many others. He is the son of the songwriter and drummer Doyle Bramhall.
Bramhall is one of the few guitarists who plays with his instrument strung upside-down.[20][21] He plays left-handed, but the instrument is strung upside-down with the high E on the top. This unusual arrangement of the strings gives his playing a unique sound, because he bends the strings by pulling them downwards rather than upwards, the customary approach. Others who have bent strings in this direction include Elizabeth Cotton, Albert King, Eric Gales, Otis Rush, Barbara Lynn, Coco Montoya, Edgard Scandurra, king of surf guitar Dick Dale, and the late blues guitarist Jeff Healey, who played with his instrument flat on his lap for stability and increased string flexibility.[22]

The members are Chris Vos (guitar, lead vocals), Alex Stiff (bass, backing vocals), and Marc Cazorla (drums, backing vocals). This version was a solid one. Also the most popular since the timing was good with Youtube and people having videos of it. It would be nice to find more feeds with other versions.

Anyways, when it's Pink Floyd you know it's good.

I did a search and there is one post in this entire 195 page thread (started in 2008) on Paul Simon, by Montreal Monk in 2008. Paul Simon is one of the great musical artists of all time, and I was fortunate enough to see his band perform at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2006 (they were warming up on an outdoor stage for a paid indoor concert later that same evening). They were absolutely awesome.

Yesterday, for the first time in a while, I heard on my car radio one of Simon's greatest hits from his solo career, "Slip Sliding Away", and it's been playing in my mind ever since. The backing vocals are by The Oak Ridge Boys. Although this song is considered a "love song", that totally miscasts it. If you listen to the whole song, it actually is much deeper than that:
