What to expect in a massage parlor?

I'll be going to Quebec City soon and I've been thinking of trying a massage for the first time. I've read vaguely about base service and extras, but I'm not sure what they include exactly, what typically happens in a session and what extras are usually available.

I'd appreciate if anyone could enlighten me
