I have to admit that I'd miss the Laughs if they were gone. Like I've said before, it's just so much fun to watch them lose!
Meanwhile Doc probably doesn't even need to steal any nitrous oxide from his patients' dental supplies tonight: his heroes won! Bravo for them - in a HOME game, in yet another "must-win" game (because they're in the same miserable hole they've been in for 4 freakin DECADES), against the absolute worst team in hockey this year...they managed to scrape up a 3-2 win in overtime. Golly gee, what an achievement! It's almost good enough to stand next to their PROUDEST achievement of the last 40(!!!) fuckin years: ALMOST making it to the finals in 93. What an absolutely pathetic bunch of losers! (By the way from what I hear "almost" only counts in horseshoes.)

Nice trick misquoting my post and making it appear like this. You dentists are a crafty lot and I can't really argue with what you said since (as I will re-state for your benefit only since you seem to have missed it the first 1086 times I made the point) I think both teams are without hope.
Having said that I must admit that it's a LOT more fun watching the Leafs lose. The Habs may be untalented but at least they seem like decent guys - unlike the Darcy Tuckers and Tie Domis of the world (yes, yes, I know Tie has retired...at least from playing pro hockey. It seems he has not yet retired however from acting like an idiot: witness Belinda Stronach, the messy divorce, the classless episode berating his son's coach etc. etc. ad infinitum).
Also, as delusional as some Habs fans are, they're still not as bad as the sad sack Leaf fans who are just plain living in another world. By God I even heard of one space cadet who referred to the likes of Wellwood, Tucker and Kaberle as key players!
The Habs were screwed by the other teams in 1970 after winning it in 69.But they came back in 71 to recapture what was theirs.
I doubt Carolina wins it in 2008.

Habs win tonight vs. Rangers combined with Leafs loss vs. Isles and Trashers loss vs. Canes puts Montreal in the 6th spot and a potential Habs/Trashers round with one game to go. Many "ifs" but the possibility is there. Habs road record gives me reasons to be skeptical over their chances to beat NY at MSG but we'll see.

As for Halak in goal, absolutely in agreement. Just look at what Cam Ward did for Carolina last year in the playoffs.
Well it looks like it all comes down to Saturday night! Habs choked tonight but at least Souray set a new NHL record for powerplay goals by a defenceman. Congrats Sheldon! Now I'm hoping for the Leafs to lose and all we will need is a tie in regulation in Toronto on Saturday and I'm betting for Huet to be in the nets against the Leafs. It's going to be one hell of a game!!! What an end to the regular season.
The Laffs lost 5-2 - the Habs will get at least get 1 point on Saturday and take 8th place, while the Maple Loafs will hit the golf course

When the going gets tough the tough get going. But when the going gets tough for the Habs and the Leafs they both lose. Not exactly a surprise. Now even the Islanders have a chance - 2 games left, Philly and Jersey. Jersey will probably keep the Landers out but you never know.

(With Raycroft in the Toronto nets, Mtl would have far better goaltending even if my grandmother replaced Halak and Huet.) In TO's favor: home game - both these "teams" are far better at home than on the road.

Well, I hope Carbo sticks with Halak. Huet's record in Toronto has been abysmal. In his last start in goal at the Laughs which was back in January, he surrendered 4 goals.
BTW, I predict that the Habs will remain as Canada's team after Saturday's game regardless of the outcome.
