I agree with Bucky... Chez Ma Tante is the best. The small building is straight out of the fifties, the two guys working at night have been there forever and their juicy golden-brown greasy fries are the best in town.

I've been to the Montreal Pool Room and their dogs are average at best.

They've always added brown sugar. That's why the fries come out brown like that, not because the oil is dirty.

The Montreal Pool Room was a rat hole, I did not see what the big fuss was all about. Their hotdogs were nothing special. I thought the place was a bacterial trap. If they stayed open any longer a mankind killing bacteria would have developed behind the hotdog steamer.

Some people may throw tomatoes at me for saying this, but I find tha Costco hot dogs at $2 drink included is a good deal. The hot dog is about 3 times the size of greasy spoon hot dogs and it is all beef.

I like those Costco kosher dogs too! But those dogs are in a different category than the steamie types.
