Brutopia's beers are great. I'm from out of town and I always drink there when in Montreal. There used to be an interesting brew pub in a rundown area called Cheyval Blanc, or something like that. Is it still around?

Guiness in bottles, not cans

Guinness on tap (if possible in Dublin or in the UK, the taste overthere is less sweet than the one in Montreal) or in a can. Guinness in bottle isn't creamier as the one in a can or on tap.

The Cheval Blanc Micro-Brewry is located on rue de la Roche in Montreal. It was taken over by Les Brasseurs RJ, known in particular for their "Belle-Gueule" label. Several of the original Cheval Blanc labels were dropped following RJ's acquisition but they kept some of the best.

My votes among Quebec's microbrewries go to:

• From Unibroue (Sleeman): Blanche de Chambly, Maudite, Raftman
• From Les Brasseurs du Nord: Boréale rousse
• From Les Brasseurs RJ: Belle-Gueule Originale, Cheval Blanc - Blanche Originale and Rousse Légendaire
