Things are pretty slow now in Montreal.

Is it because of the weather ? Too hot ?

Do you think things will pick up in November when more SPs will show up to earn money for Christmas shopping ?

Why the slowdown

I don't know why you see it as a slow down. It's business as usual. Just that there are more providers out there. The average girl now can do the same service as anyone so we all end up with more choices, simply as that.

the Mtl. economy is showing signs of a slowdown. It's too early to tell if it's a bl.ip, corection or real downtrend. We will know by winter

Yes, I also see the signs. The dreaded debt cycle (or business cycle as optimists call it) in my humble opinion has peaked. The recent growth in real estate (and the riches that brought to the so called booming economy) may swallow up more than usual in the downtrend if the correction in that sector is severe.

Let's hope for new homeowners that the correction that will invariably occur in the real estate sector is mild. If not...it may be a recipe for disaster.

Definately. Doesn't travel much either. If any of the more popular agencies offered services down here in Ottawa, with women like they have and at prices they charge? Sheee-it! Every see a documentary on the mating of frogs!???

I should be so lucky to have a slow-down like that

P.S. No cultural slur meant, as I ar one too :D

Market slow down: Ads in newspaper and web sites.

Don't you all look at the ads on the web sites and in the newspapers ?

Sites like Aleeva and FKS have the same girls for many years now. It is in black and white too!!!

There aren't just that many additions to the scene.

If this is not slow down, then what else ?

No more SPs ?

Aleeva leaves the same pictures because she does not have to take new pictures. And they are black and white because she prefers it that way. Besides, a girl that was there is till in demand nor for a select clientele. FKS does not need new updates neither.
And lastly, agencies don't like to hire new when the current girls works well. A new girl is a gamble as it can work well or not, and can be a hassle to owners.
There are many additions. Just a lot more agencies out there. If you look in le Journal de Montreal, there are less columns but that’s because the rate has increased 4-fold and agencies prefer mainstream papers like Montreal Mirror or Montreal Hour.
Celine is doing a good job by adding new girls. But ask he if she would take new pictures for your eyes, hell no.
More girls go incalls instead of outcalls because it’s more convenient and less stressing –transportation and refusals and unknown environment.
If Montreal market was judged by the housing market, it has slowed down by 2% by the predictions for house price increase is still strong.

Lets all agree to disagree. We will know by the 1st quarter of next year. It's speculation now. I am less bullish than others. I hope I'm wrong. If I make more money, I will not mind so much to pay a bit more. I will mind to pay allot more. I hope I am somewhat wrong in my predictions. Price gouging only helps a few. Let's talk about this again in 3 to 6 months.

New York/Bruce34,

Your posts are not completely accurate as FKS has recently added two new additions.

If things were as good at FKS as some claim, some of their girls wouldn't be moonlighting for other agencies, or seeing clients 'on the side' for lower rates than posted on the FKS site. The reason they are bringing in new recruits is also due to the fact that business has been slow, and more girls means more $$ for the group (and the managers). It's also a sign that girls that used to be busy at other HDH agencies are going to one of the few HDH agencies left that's still doing decent business, since the agencies they used to work for have hit tough times in the HDH market.

Case in point: recently, an acquaintance of mine inquired on the availability of a high-priced provider. When he realized shortly after that her rates were higher than the typical HDH provider, he changed his mind about seing her. Well, she wasn't taking no for an answer and when she realized that he wasn't going to see her after several email exchanges, she offered to see him at regular HDH rates ($400-450 for 2 hrs). To his credit, he politely declined.

The HDH sector boomed a couple of years ago, and reached its peak. Now, things have simply settled down to where it should be....and where it was in the past when AllissaMtl and Mtl Gfs were the only 2 HDH agencies in Mtl. Things got kind of crazy after that, and many girls that were priced as HDHs were simply not of that calibre. The improving Canadian $$ (or is it the weaker US $$) has also affected the tourist industry. Canada isn't an attractive destination as it once was....it now costs more for tourists to come to Canada as compared to a few years ago. Let's face it....if it wasn't for american visitors, there probably wouldn't be an HDH market in Mtl. They keep it going....and the present situation is simply a sign-of-the-times.

Busy this week-end

Oh gosh my foot does not taste good. I guess there are times when one should talk about what he knows and check out the sources. Aleeva is adding 2 to 3 more lovely ladies very shortly. Actually it is not slow with the Molson Indy this week-end; there are more calls than expected for the niche of clientele that would not even visit huh-MERB.

the speculated slowdown

I don't get to visit MTL as often as I would like, and do not keep up with the local MTL economy, but from a distance it sure looks like something is happening that would suggest there is a slow down in the SP business.

The data points I have are:
- IN has officially closed down in MTL for "vacation" till Sept, and girls are touring under the CN brand
- Freedom has rolled back their downtown/Laval rate to $140
- Some touring SPs have told me that business is slow to dead in MTL
- It may be a coincidence, but CF, one of my favorite MTL agencies, has been running specials of one kind or another

Othere relevant data points would be:
-Have hobbyists been noticing that SPs are showing up on time more often?
-Have availability of your favorite SPs improved?
-Have more SPs been taking advantage of this speculated slowdown and take a vacation?

I think only the agency owners would know whether there is a slowdown or not, but I doubt very much they would share this information. The last thing they want to see is customers start asking or negotiating for discounts.

Slowdown?

I agree that there are many conflicting signals. But are we really talking about the same thing when we are putting agencies like IN-CN and CF in the same sentence?

Céline for one has just posted in another thread, in response to someone asking if her specials reflected a slowdown, that on the contrary business has never been better and that's why she was offering specials to reward clients. There are lots of new faces at CF, SD, Eleganza and DC, new agencies and indies are always popping up.

I'm convinced all this is just a reflexion of a more competitive market. Increased offer but stable demand, low-medium level agencies just want to keep their business volume and revenues. Hence the price cuts and all the marketing strategies.

On the other end, high end agencies and many high priced indies have to rely on the Ontario and US market to sustain their activities. Specially during summer time when those who have money to hobby may also have money to take vacation! From the average local hobbyist point of view, even if you have the money to go for HDHs and pay 300-400$/h, why do that when there's so much quality providers at 200$ or less? That's why HDHs are touring so much to Toronto and major US Cities.

I'm seeing agency SPs at 200$ or less but also several indies at rates around 200-250$/h (because I think they are worthed). Call them medium level or high level, these indies all seem to be very happy and comfortable with the business they have right now. Try to book Samy for instance, you'll see! These girls typically see one or two clients max. per day and they don't want more (most are students or are involved in other ventures anyway). I've seen recently a FKS lady (Mia) who don't want to be reviewed on this board (I respect that) because she's not interested in additional exposure and business. Another FKS lady, Laila, now post she's only accepting 3-hr minimum encounters or 5-hr dinner date and she's just booked solid.

These are not signs of desperately business seeking escorts.

I forgot to add that another reason for the decline in HDH business this year is also due to the fact that it's cheaper for visiting hobbyists to stay home since several HDH agencies and independents travel to their area now. They save on travel, accomodations, and expenses. In the past, with a struggling Canadian dollar, it was still a bargain to travel to Mtl.

I would also like to add that boards such as these haven't exactly helped the HDH market. I know many hobbyists who have admitted being stupid for constantly paying high $$ in the past when they could have spent a lot less and be nearly as satisfied with other, more reasonably priced options. But they discovered on these boards that there is a totally huge market out there with ladies that are more affordable and a better bargain. Of course, there are exceptions and there are some high dollar ladies out there that haven't noticed a difference, or are as busy as they have ever been. But someone who hasn't noticed a downward trend in Mtl's HDH sector must be living on a different planet.

Dont forget to mention the three colleges that are located downtown...alot of young talent come into town for the first time and find they are short on money. Fall class's just started, give it a couple of weeks before their spending cash starts getting short and they 'try new things' to replenish that spending money.

Im sure some agency's put up some type of advertisement on or near these campus's hoping to attract some of this new talent.

I have no problem with the prices going down. I don't mind if college girls flood the market this fall and lower the prices. Who wouldn't. I am inposition to take advantage of a slowed down economy and buy up all kinds of shit.

"My view is there are a limited number of Ladies that are truly HDH="High Dollar hotties" level and a larger-much larger number of Ladies that are aspiring to that level of income in spite of not delivering what I would consider "THE TOTAL Package". ."

I agree, but I think there's another thing happening, too. There are some women out there who say, I'd never do that for $X, but for double $X? Then I'd consider it. They don't mind if they aren't busy all the time or if they don't make as much money as they could if they increased their volume at a lower rate. They think that they are worth HDH rates, and they decide that they're not willing to do this unless they get HDH rates.

I think it's a self-image sort of thing.
