Not great at grilling so I find cheap cuts like beef rump, pork shoulder & sausages to be real crowd pleasers. Even if u mess up, no big loss, hehe. Pineapple & corn r also great w/ the grill. Prepare lots of chimichurri and beer to mask any bad grilling :eyebrows:

I often buy cheaper flank steak and/or also beef rump. If you marinated those properly they are great! I learned in France that if you have guest to always throw a few Mergez sausage on the bbq as you cook. You cut them directly from the bbq and feed the guess one by one with a nice cold beer.

Yes pineapple and corn are awesome to cook on the bbq. I also love asparagus (with just olive oil and salt and pepper) and bets! Cook them in a foil once peeled. Or full spanish onions. Serve them with lemon juice.

Ho if you have chimichurri leftovers throws some on chopped tomatoes and spinach cooked on a foil with a bit of sugar. Throw that on a white fish... Delicious!

Any hardwood charcoal to recommend?

Charcoal??!! U mean the carcinogenic stuff that people used in olden times :painkiller:

Guess if u like the xtra flavor then coconut charcoal might, maybe, seems like a safer option.

I have been to Japanese restaurants where they used Bincho-tan, very impressive. Never seen anyone use it for home grilling though.

I went to Plattsburg and got a kamodo grill, I do not think you can get the Akorn char grillers up here. this one is stell and does an excellent job at 1/4 the price. You can go to Canadian tire and get the traditional ceramic ones, but I do not see the point of paying 4 times the price.

Look behind you.
I picked up the Kamadu clay ceramic BBQ last fall, superb.
Once you get to know how to use it ( flavor chips ) they are excellent.

I never did that in the past. This morning I marinated about 15 pounds of chicken, pork, red meat and even some fish and tomorrow I will put everything in the freezer.
All in 3 person size portions.

Since it's horrible to go to the food store right now it will enable me to keep using the BBQ. I had never thought of doing that in the past.

Funny story related to grilling...I went to the local gas station to change out my empty propane tank. They were out of propane and so were several other gas stations. I was wondering if it was A) people are grilling more at home because they are not going out to restaurants or B) The stores are void of toilet paper and disinfectant wipes and the hyped up mob needed something to else to hoard so they bought up all the propane. I was lucky to find a gas station that just got a shipment in. I bought 1 tank ( I was tempted to buy 2 but I thought I would be as bad as the hoarders.)

I'm a big fan of BBQ..! and i have a Napoleon. It's my best so far! The burners and casing are all stainless steel for rust resistant . The heat distribution plate make the heat come there just amazing and very quick !

Like some other company, the option with Infrared grilling is quite interesting if you're a fan of rare steak..!

Bref, you can't get wrong with Napoleon BBQ !

Très bon choix. J ai un Kamado Joe que je nourris avec le vrai charbon de bois, jamais de briquettes de charbon. Je ne retournerai jamais au propane

I slow pan fry and just before serving I give the burgers, steaks, hot dogs a sear over charcoals on a cheap hibachi style grill. That way everyone eats at the same time,

My friend has the Traeger Grill that sponsors the JRE podcast. He says its amazing because it gets really hot, you can cook in so many ways. what he likes the most, is the smoker which he can choose the type of wood to use.

I personally like the basic charcoal grill :)

I use a vision grill (charcoal) its like a green egg/kamado but from canadian tire.
Perfect for a slow long cook.

Its the ceramic one so very heavy and pricey unfortunately.

Smoking ribs as I type this actually.

NEED TIPS ON A NEW GRILL- WHAT MAKE AND MODEL DO YOU GUYS LIKE???

It looks like the end of the road for my Weber Spirit E-210 gas grill, which is why I am now I am in the market for a new grill. I purchased the Weber in July of 2015 for $500 so it is now 7 years old. Yesterday I attempted to grill some lamb shish kebab. I observed that although my 20 lb. propane tank is 80% full, the flames coming out of the burner were very small and the grill was not heating beyond 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Usually it heats to over 550 degrees in 12 minutes, but now it's not going past 350. I had to cook the lamb on the grill on the low heat for over 15 minutes before it was cooked!!!! Usually I cook it on a very high heat 3.5 minutes each side and it is done. I am not sure what is wrong, but I believe the burners are corroded or rusted and the gas isn't being delivered like it should be. In any event I do not feel like I am owed anything by this grill, and want to move on.
