Randy West RIP
I’ve just learned from a porn insider that legendary porn actor, director & producer Randy West passed away at age 76. He would have turned 77 next month. Randy had a heart attack 15 years ago while working out in a gym & his life was saved by emergency cardiac surgery. He had been retired since that time & enjoying retirement in Las Vegas where he spent his time attending porn conventions & charity functions. Prior to entering the porn business he attended university in Florida on a baseball scholarship hoping to make it as a pro. He also loved music & performed in several musical groups. Randy became a male stripper & eventually posed for Playgirl & was one of its first centerfolds to pose with a fully erect penis. This led to a very successful porn career where he acted in hundreds of movies with all the top female pornstars of the day. Eventually he tried directing porn movies & the last decade of his career he added the title of producer to his extensive resume. His most popular series was his Randy West’s Up and Cummers where he interviewed & performed with several dozens of new starlets entering the porn business or coming from Europe trying to crack the American porn business. Along with Ed Powers he was a pioneer in casting type of porn. Among his discoveries was future porn goddess Jenna Jameson & Kristi Myst, known as Pamela Sanderson at the time. Randy never got married & never had children. I was told by people who’ve met him that he was one of the nicest guys you could bump into & i’ve rarely heard a bad word about him. Rest in peace, legend!

Filming a POV is work and takes away from the full experience. You're doing two things at a time fucking and filming. There's been times I toss the camera and just get down to business. Though the vids are always fun to watch afterwards !

I’m not a big fan of POV scenes. I’m also not a fan of closeups. I prefer watching two fully nude bodies pleasuring one another during a sex scene. I’m also not much of a fan of lingerie or stockings. Not a fan of guys wearing t-shirts or hats during a sex scene. I’ve always preferred watching a sex scene when the lovers are all fully nude. I am in full agreement with you that filming POV requires more work & takes away from the full experience, as you put it, for the reasons mentioned. However i have used this filming technique in the past also but mostly for anal scenes in order to validate to the person viewing the film that there is no doubt which part of the anatomy is involved & which would at times difficult to see from a regular camera angle. The main reason why i’m not a fan of filming these types of scenes is that the camera always shakes during intercourse & makes it somewhat irritating to view. However filming & watching it in POV is enjoyable to both film & watch if the scene involves fellatio. Holding a camera while lying down, sitting or standing up requires much less exertion & with the pulse rate being considerably lower any possible shaking of the camera is neutralized. It adds to the overall shoot.

True. You are right about the shaking of camera and breaks between action. As long as the facial is good thats all that matters.

Newer generation OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) is quite impressive, and shake is significantly reduced. Autofocus and tracking is so good that you can look at the action directly instead of being fixed on the OLED.

Even the latest generation phones shoot 4K and are quite good at reducing camera shake. 120P for the pop even ;)
