Why I Voted For Nader For President

This morning I cast my vote for the Nader-Carnejo ticket. It was the 4th consecutive presidential election in which I have voted for a 3rd party candidate. I would like to have voted for Arnold Schwarznegger, because he has the balls to do his own thing that neither Kerry and Bush have, but unfortunately the US constitution makes Arnie ineligible at this time due to being born outside the USA, so I could not write him in.

We need to say no to partisan politics. It is stifling creativity in resolving problems and crises. There is too much tugging of the party lines and not enough creative thinking going on.

I urge all of you to join me in sending a message to the Republicans and the Democrats that enough is enough. Let's get back to grassroots politics. The only way it will happen is if we give strong support to third party candidates.

I understand exactly where you're coming from. In 2000 I voted Nader (but I know that at the time NJ was firmly Democratic)

This time around I can't afford to be flippant with my vote.

I concur with you both and if I lived in New York or California and not this battle ground state where my vote is desperately needed, I'd have gone for Nader. Its 822pm here now and this is almost nervewracking watching the teevee.

Bush has not won anything yet! CNN has it 254-252 in the electoral college and 270 votes are needed to win. Ohio is as yet undecided. We probably won't know the winner for sure until tomorrow.

From what I see this morning on TV, Ohio may still not be confirmed, but it looks like it will be 4 more years of Bush. The Republicans have more than 135000 votes lead in Ohio and even with the pre-election votes and recount, I don't think the Democrats will surmount the 135000 votes deficit. Besides, W won the popular vote also!!!

I am not American that is probably why I don't understand why someone could vote for Bush.

Ideologically I am closer to the Republicans than I am to the Democrats, but I am unhappy with the way that the religious right has set a partisan agenda on so many issues, and I am also unhappy with the numerous errors that have been made in Iraq, which I think are reflective of the Bush Administration simply not having thought through a variety of different issues.

I admire candidates who do what they believe is right rather than pander to the pressures exerted by powerful special interest groups. For this reason I have tremendous respect for Arnold Schwarznegger who has pissed off many in the Republican party by supporting embyronic stem cell research, but he has done what he believes is right.

This is why we have the problems that we do. We do not have creative problem solvers at the top who are not beholden to some special interest group that is dictating its own agenda. We need leaders who will have the balls to follow their own convictions. This is why I want Arnold to run in 2008 and if he is nominated I will vote for him. His testicles are larger than all of the candidates in the 2004 election combined.

As of now, no, Arnold cannot run for President because he was born outside the USA. But I do believe that there will be a constitutional amendment as a compromise to potential litigation over the issue, between now and 2008, which will enable Arnold to run. It's probably already being discussed. As I see it the Republicans' 2 leading candidates to run in 2008 will be Rudolph Giuliani and Arnold.

CNN is reporting that Kerry has conceded so it looks like we have 4 more years of Bush.
