We all know about this unpleasant disease. Do you plan to get vaccinated for it?

In my case, yes. Quebec recommends doing so, they make it easy, and I'm the better-safe-than-sorry type.

Anyway I'm curious about others. (But if you have a whole lot to say about how you're against vaccines, maybe give the short version.)

Update! This just in, I canceled my appointment. As the people here say, right now the shots are scarce and they're supposed to be for men who have sex with other men. I didn't read carefully enough, so thanks to everyone for being so on top of this (hope that's not a pun).

The vaccine? I just signed up for it with ClicSante and I was quite upfront about not getting it on with men.
Vaccine, yes. From what I understand the number of doses limited so they are focusing on the higher risk people. That being said you may still be able to get it.

Seems to apply to SWs and their clients. Here is on the ClicSante website and I highlighted the key points. Seems to be a sensible precaution to get it.

Just right above your red box it says sex with a man. But Arianna may be right in that they are less strict when it's actually time to inject the vaccine. Still, currently 99% of cases are in homosexual males. Eventually it is likely to cross over to heterosexual populations through bisexual relationships and/or through household contacts.

I know that is why I posted it here. It is kind of confusing. I would say it is more likely to crossover due to bisexual men. Homosexual/Bisexual men are very promiscuous.

I think you're right. I edited my post.

For vaccine eligibility, read carefully. Officially, it's only offered to men who have sex with men. This will probably change with time.

If the gouverment would just Cancel Pride week, it’s unlikely Monkeypox would super spread, or spread past men who have unprotected sex with other men. Why take the risk? Isn’t that what has been hammered down our throats the last 3 years?

I am not in public healt but... I have been told by a friend doctor, if you have been vaccinated for small pox as a kid, like I was, we are immune and he also said unlike tetanus or covid, you don't have to get a booster shot later.

Most likely not. Unless it become x10 000 what it currently is. Its not mortally dangerous for most humans in good health and cases are EXTREMELY low, and seem mostly linked to homosexual relationships.

I got vaccinated this week.
Since I received the vaccine as a child I only needed one shot. Not a single question was asked about my sexual orientation.
If you are planning on getting vaccinated I suggest waiting until the AIDS conference and Pride are over.
Long wait since 3 out of 4 people were from out of the country and the registration process was very long.
