I'd prefer they keep Halak in the net, until he looses a game. Why break a winning combination?
Besides,Huet is no Brodeur and he wasn't really hot before his injury anyway.
This back to back weekend against top teams will show exactly what this team is made of.

Carolina played so bad in its last 2 games that I thought I was watching the Canadiens. By the way, true believers, don't get too high on your beloved Habs: just look at the teams they've been beating on their hot streak (Bruins a couple of times, Laughs, Caps - not exactly the cream of the league, more like the spoiled, curdled milk).

Agree but I'll take Huet over Abby any day to substitute Halak should he fall apart.

... and the Rangers but that's beside the point. At least both Habs and Laughs have been playing with decent intensity lately, something teams reputedly more talented like Tampa Bay and Carolina are dangerously lacking off right now.

I see nos glorieux winning all their remaining games with Halak in nets and taking the 8th seed – the Make-Me-Laffs will fall off, starting tomorrow night with Atlanta as Toronto’s current lucky streak will come to an end – the Maple Loafs will be on the outside looking in after April 7 while Montreal prepares for another long playoff run !! :)

GO HABS GO !!

They still are in certain parts of Montreal. They supposedly give them away for free to that small portion of delusional Havenots fans who still fantasize about their team to be among the elite of the league. In reality, something we haven't really seen for a decade or two.
They're probably giving away Toronto overstock.

Atlanta's been playing .500 hockey over the past 10 games or so & other teams are slowly catching up. They lost to Florida last night. Enough said!

so Atlanta are due for a win, which they will tonight ... as Toronto fans watch their team's playoff hopes fade away

Better to live in the past than in this No-history-of-any-significant-success Land where Laughs fans have been living all their lives. And frankly what do Laughs fans see in the current edition of their cherished team to look down on the Habs? 2006 and 2007 hasn't been exactly a big success as far as I know (Laughs lost in OT tonight -vs- Atlanta, practically out of playoffs contentions) and there's really nothing right now on this roster to hope for a better future.

No past, no present, no future and you have this timeless team called the Toronto Maple Leafs -vs- a team with an history of success, a chance to make this years playoffs and players paid minimum wage ($450,000) carrying the team on their shoulders, precursor sign of brighter days ahead.

I wouldn't count the Laughs out of the playoffs yet. They're still only 1 point behind the 6th place T-Bay, who on their side, are only 2 ahead of 11th place. So anything can still happen.

As for the Habs players's nationality,it has been a concern for many fans these last few years, especially when the team has been struggling, but as soon as they get on a winning streak, everybody forgets it.

And btw, last time I checked, there were at least 7 Europeans with the Laughs.Such is the reality of NHL nowadays,it's international.

It's always about "What have you done lately" and Big Mo in all sports. And the fact is, Habs are on a roll right now. Halak keeps getting better in goal with every game, the Habs offense is finally coming alive and there's no question that the Habs will make the playoffs. Oh wait... I'm in the wrong thread. This is about those pathetic losers, aka Maple Laughs and their delusional fans, ain't it? :p

Yes, brighter days ahead - the future looks bright for the Habs – a potential tandem of Halak and Price, Kostitsyn, Latendressse ( a future 30 goal scorer) , Plekanec , Higgins , Chipchura …etc… lots of good young talent on the way and on the current Montreal roster. :)

While Toronto builds their roster by picking up aging has beens ,Boston’s third stringer and getting locked into dumb and expensive long term contracts like the one given to Mccabe. Ziggy sums it up best “No past, no present, no future” for the sad Leaf franchise. :D

Easy, this way: "kwak kwak kwak..." A tougher question would be: how can one cheer for the Brittany Sardines?

And Doc, we - the realists in the crowd - have been saying all along that both the Leafs and the Habs : a) suck big time, b) have sucked big time for many years, and C) will continue to suck big time for many years to come. And that is why we realists laugh heartily at the dreamers in BOTH camps.

The realists? Good one! They are both average teams, but "suck big time" is the kind of "realism" my 9 y/o nephew would use.

But then again, most sports fan have about as much common sense as a 9 y/o. :)

No, Doc, I'm not saying the Canes and the Lightning suck. Please have someone read you my earlier post one more time if you require clarification. I am saying the Leafs and the Habs suck big time. Sorry - in spite of your Egyptian reference, I thought English would be an appropriate language for my posting - mea culpa. Oh, and pleasant dreams Doc - for in Dreamland the Leafs may well be a good team.

Sure I get it, my friendly tubercular dentist - which perhaps reflects badly on me. And, in all fairness, I imagine that reading skills and reality are not the focal points of study in the science of dentistry. Furthermore, when your beloved Leafs win the Cup you will truly have the last laugh. They will win the Cup, won't they?

What better time for the Laughs to fall apart! A 7-2 lost vs the Rangers. Recap:

- Sean Avery: posts two goals and an assist around a first-period knockdown of Darcy Tucker - yay!

- Raycroft is to goaltending what Gruyere is to cheese: full of holes! He allowed four goals on 16 shots and was yanked 4:42 into the second period of his 39th start in 40 games after Straka made it 4-2.

- Mats "choke" Sundin, was held without one goal for the ninth straight game.

- Laughs are now sitting outside playoffs contention.

Yeah Raycroft is a sieve - but that's not news. Yeah the Laughs had a humiliating loss - but that's not news. What is news is that even ex-Laughs are having a bad time. To wit: Tie Domi - first with the Belinda Stronach nonsense and now for the dispute with his son's coach. We all know that it has not been good (or intelligent) to be a Leaf or a Leaf supporter for the past 40 years but it's got to be even more embarrassing than usual nowadays.
