Wrong.... Quebec will not allow you to grow your own, they want all the money then can get off this tax grab.
Each province may have different rules, read up on them.

I agree with that, i think the law of not consuming alcool on the street is one of the most idiotic thing there is. GLASS BOTTLE i can get, but cans? Cmon not, its no different than a pepsi can... Its not because i want to drink a beer with a couple friends in a park that i will get drunk and stupid and throw my shit everywhere. I mean look how stupid it is. I worked in a camping wich has a park pretty much on the same field. Basically you step out of your "rent" and you get into the park. So it was legal and allow to drink beer around your campfire on the ground you rented, but not outside it. So basically if you had to go to the bathroom for instance, you had to leave your beer there. If peoples would come to the park to have dinner at one of the tables, they could not drink a cup of wine, while the campers at there own table on there rent, they could. Cmon now.

PS : I am not sure how to say "Terrain" in english, it translate to "ground" on google translation wich sound weird.

Personally my view of this legalization as a non smoker is this ... I am happy its not something "criminal" anymore altough it has been very tolerated in general. Most police would just confiscate your weed and have you botch your current joint and that was about it. At least we won't have to deal with that and i would think if you are caugh smoking in a place where you should not, you won't be able to face any criminal record at all, only a fine maybe?

But past that, i already seen someone posting they paid for a 3.5 and got a 3.1 and the price was way more than the regular street place. I don't think this will have any effect on the fact peoples will keep buying from dealers.

I see this whole thing like i see prostitution, no matter if legal or not, peoples will do it anyway and don't care. Legalizing it is only "normal". Its like if prostitution was legalized but only in governement ruled brothel. Would you go there and have to deal with every restriction the governement may think about, while paying MUCH MORE, or would you still go at your favorite agency incall or call girls to your hotel room? I know what i would do personally...

They can still be assholes who drank elsewhere and are now in parks or on the street lol

Gentlemen, I appreciate the heads up about not bringing any weed back across the border. But seriously, when I say “I’m on they way” that doesn’t mean I plan on loading my car With a trailer full of weed and taking my chances at the border.

The benefit for me is that I can now purchase some legally when I’m in Montreal. Not to bring back, to use while I’m in town. The same reason I wouldn’t bring any weed into Canada is the same reason I wouldn’t bring any into the US, it’s illegal.

It’s like telling me to not to drive 100 miles per hour because the speed limits are in kilometers. I get it. Thanks.

At first I thought, no way will the government displace the black market. 4 stores in Montreal. Like I'm going to get in the car, battle my way through traffic, construction, for a few grams of grass. I though for sure this was a stupid idea. By the time they charged the tax, the shipping, I could get twice as much for the same dollar.
But then yesterday I looked at the web site.Shit, $7 a gram for the cheapest. That includes tax. Shipping $5 any amount up to 30 grams. And look at the selection! It's been decades since I've seen Quiff(sp?), oil, synthetic THC. The only thing I can get these days through my contact is plain old simple grass at $7 a gram if I guy 30 grams ( that lasts me over a year or more). And I wake up with a hang over in the morning. WTF, you are not supposed to have a hangover...
So I've changed my mind. Damn right it's a good idea!

Lady_Lover its because you don't know the right peoples or something. Getting good weed or anything related in Canada is so easy. I had a friend who made his own oil and it was insane. A couple puff and you would be stoned for hours

Maybe its the area of town. I know tons of people. The only thing I could get around here other than grass, was the occasional hash. But I'm just an occasional smoker, once a month at most. This is just so much more convenient and not any more costly than the going rate around here.

You are confusing Libertarian with Conservatism. Not the same at all. See the conservatives believe in big government. They institute strict laws on social behavior and in your bedroom and enforce their own cheap version of moralism. Neither do the conservatives want that in fact they want to outlaw marijuana. Legault wants to raise the age to smoke marijuana in Quebec to 21 and yes restricting home grown weed in Quebec is another conservative philosophy.

Not really, a high majority of drunks will not leave a place with alcohol to somewhere they can not drink so they will stay where they are. The assholes usually come out when the pubs close and they are on their way home.

I don't think its that. Peoples of bars drink there cause they have easy accesible alcohol and they like the "atmosphere". Its not the same thing as "bring your own beer" thing. I know (and done) peoples who got in parks with friends and other places and drank, its just you have to "hide" it and always be on the look out, its more a thing for young peoples to be honest. Me and my best friend would often go to the bar in our early 20s but usually buy a big ten or something like that to get drunk BEFORE entering the bar, so it wouldn't cost us too much We would drink in parks or parking lots. Always looking for the parking lot agent or police But thanksfully worst that happen is we got caught once, the guy told us to make sure we put them in the trash before leaving so an idiot wouldn't smash them on the ground. Nice dude

Now Montreal is a bit different than where i live, more peoples, more police etc but thats basically it for me and my experience.

As a more mature adult now i just wish i would be allow to take a "ptite frete" in a park while i take a small break from a walk or something like that.
