    The Positive Thread

    Negativity breads negativity, positivity breeds positivity.

    I thought that there was some value in starting this thread... it is dedicated to saying sincere positive things about other members.

    I mean it... don't try to slip one by by saying a positive which is really a negative... for those (like me) who have been involved in battles this might mean not even posting a sincere positive comment because it may be taken as a negative. For example if I said... nope I won't go there as I'd be doing what I want to prohibit.

    At times we gripe and complain but, while we don't want to do it 24/7, it's nice to celebrate the positive from time to time.

    I don't want to be hooky but the Olympics inspired me to start this thread... I was rather cool towards them but in the end I find my heart bursting with pride because of the Canadian athletes... win lose or draw... for the most part they are wonderful, modest, highly accomplished, people.

    I'll start:

    Techman truly does have a deep knowledge of IT and is generous with helping others.

    With respect to the sex scene he has a vast "corporate knowledge" in the sense he's been around the scene for a long time... this brings an insight that is rare.

    He has known many a lady involved in clubs and can bring their point of view to the boards.

    He is open minded enough to become good friends with one that he used to battle with.

    He stands four-square against child pornography and the sexual exploitation of children.

    Thanks Doc... well said... I don't think I've ever seen legal matters explained so clearly and succinctly and with the appropriate caveats as by EB.... if all lawyers were like him no one would be like the fellow looking for a one armed lawyer... why was he looking for that... because every lawyer he met said: On the one hand, but on the other hand!

    and I hope he isn't offended by this: He is a really nice guy when you meet him in person.

    J. Peterman(son) had great posts about mundane things in life like winter tires and winter shelters. Always useful.
    Oliver klosolof (spelling) is the most entertaining and funny poster to read.
    YouVantOption is really knowlegeable about websites and I've learned reading his posts.

    I'm sorry Merlot, I do not understand what you are meaning to say. Everything I praised Techman for I meant and I'm confident most others share my opinion. I left out other positive comments as, given my history, they might have been construed in a way I didn't intend.

    In this world of woe it actually does feel good to post and see positive comments. It is also a way of giving a small thanks to those who have been helpful to us all.

    Your positive participation in this thread is most welcome and will be greatly respected I'm sure.

    Cool Friends...real or virtual...

    Thought I would start with a couple of positive quotes...there are literally thousands and that's before you get in to the sports quotes...but I liked these because they ring so true:

    Lily-Rose: Beautiful in every sense. Kind, genuine, intelligent, fun loving, sensual, sexy, sweet ... I could go on but it's in her review.

    Merlot: What a way with words; articulate and colorful; intelligent; knows who to root for in MLB.

    Special K: To the point; helpful; obviously a good judge of MLB teams.

    EagerBeaver: Well spoken; well versed; best legalese.

    Doc Holliday: dedicated; colorful; creative review style.

    Ariane Valmont: well spoken; intelligent; great opinions (even in disagreement)

    Merb smileys: .......I got nothin'...lol

    I think I said this a long time ago, but I'll repeat it here. When he used to post longer posts on various matters, I would often start reading them thinking that he was wrong and then end up questioning my initial view.

    Additionally he has street creds, is a clear writer, has much more then superficial knowledge in a number of diverse areas and contributes as a volunteer in the community.

    There are people in this hobby that I encounter that are real dears. Jman, you are one of them. Of all the numerous human qualities that you possess, I believe that your greatest one is your generosity. Thank you for your kind words. It deeply moved me.
