In a little more than an hour, Cobra Kai last episodes (show finale) release. I took a nap between 9 and 12 so i could wake up and watch the show as it release at 3 am. Man i will miss this show so bad. Probably will do rerun at some point but for now its over.

The Are Murders (2025)
This is new 5 episodes miniseries on Netflix & i found it absolutely fantastic! It’s a Swedish police thriller about a young Swedish police officer named Hanna who takes a break from her police job in Stockholm & while away in the country ends up involved in a disappearance investigation. This is the first time i’ve ever watched anything Swedish (Swedish Erotika doesn’t count) and i found it absolutely brilliant! There are two different stories in the series: Hidden in Snow Parts 1, 2 & 3. And Hidden in Shadows Parts 1 & 2. I highly recommend it!

Silo Season 2 was excellent! It's a bit of a slow burn at the beginning, but the last 2-3 episodes (especially the last) really pay off!

I rewatched season 1 right before season 2. And while I found season 1 a bit better, season 2 is its own thing. It's laying the foundation for a bigger story.

Can't wait for season 3. It looks like we may find out more about the past (and what exactly happened), which should be interesting.

Right now, rewatching Severance season 1, so I can catch up on Season 2. Cobra Kai (the final episodes) are definitely on my list as well.

It's a good show i agree, if you enjoyed it i would recommend Chesnut Man, it's Danish but same kind of ambiance, i watched it a while ago but i have good memories of it, in my mind it was better that Are Murders. There's also Entrapped, this one's Icelandic and quite enjoyable. Unfortunately Zone Blanche isn't on Netflix any longer but it was also very good.

It's funny cause a lot of people say we should boycott Netflix these days, but it's probably the platform where you can the most diversified content, as a matter of fact i rarely watch US tv shows there. :)
If you like more horror oriented TV shows there are a couple of gems on Netflix as well.

That’s the problem i have when i have to wait a year before the next season(s) show up. I have to re-watch the first seasons or the first movies since by then I’ve forgotten most of the story. That’s why i’ll have to re-watch Severance & Silo again before i re-subscribe to Apple+.

Thanks. I’ll check out Chestnut Man & Entrapped tonight. I’ll try to find out where i can watch Zone Blanche.

Netflix states that Zone Blanche (Black Spot) is only available with the no-ads plan. So i might upgrade later just to watch this series.

The title is Black in english but white in french? Interesting...

As for the second part i feared this would come. I wouldn't be surprised at some point they push this even further. Either by having ads on all plans or making the ads plan so unlikeable nobody will want to watch it (like no new release/exclusives, just old stuff).

Netflix always been about convinience for me. Exept very few exeptions like Cobra Kai wich i wanted to watch at 3 am as it release, i am fine with waiting a day or 2 and by that time it is uploaded online anyway. Its just paying a small fee instead of going the trouble of the "other route" is worth it. But if it become customer unfriendly then it loose its point.

Every streaming or broadcast solutions have the rights for a limited time, could be ten years but there's still a limit so i'm not surprised it's not here anymore.
Zone blanche in French (from France) means an area where you don't have cellular reception, so yeah it could be translated into a black spot i guess :)
Speaking of streaming rights i realized that there were 2 seasons to entrapped, well technically two different shows but with the same main character, unfortunately 1st season (show) was way better than the one available on Netflix.
If you like horror (and speak French) i would also highly recommend "Marianne", i was expecting a follow-up but unfortunately it seems there's only one season, it's a witch story, verey good i thought.
Still the best historical/horror tv show is Korean's "Kingdom" (2 seasons + a prequel movie), the tv shows are awesome, the movie just average.

I believe the ads plan is here to stay or else people would stop watching it. The premium plan costs $10 more so I can’t see people paying $20 a month for a streaming channel with so many out there at half the price & many free. I actually think that chances are the premium fee may be reduced if more people drop it in favor of the cheaper priced plan. To be honest i actually prefer the ads plan because it gives me the chance to take a break during a show or movie.

I started watching last night. It looks promising. Lately i’ve watched so many shows & movies from Sweden, Norway & Denmark that i may end up speaking Scandinavian!

By the way someone recommended the french tv version of The Bureau the other day. That’s the original version of the series & i think they have five seasons. Anyways i just finished watching season 1 and i loved it! My plan was to watch the first episode & see if i liked it. I ended up watching all 10 episodes in three days! Then my initial plan was to watch the first season, then switch to the more recent english version. However i decided to continue with the France version. Bynthe time i’m done i’ll switch to the more recent version & hopefully by then season two will be out. For people in Canada who are interested both versions are available on Paramount +. The french version is also available on YouTube but i don’t know how many seasons they have & if you can watch it on the free version of YouTube. I have the premium version because the high number of ads was driving me nuts & its now my favorite app.

i compared both versions of the bureau a couple weeks ago, the good thing is since there's a remake ("the agency"), the original is now easier to find online.
The story is pretty much the same except for a few obvious geopolitical and historical changes, so i may have to wait for awhile since i finished the original a month ago or so.
There are 5 seasons in the original show and an ending, as i mentioned the ending is quite emotional, it was written and directed by Jacques Audiard who recently directed the infamous Emilia Perez but his work on le bureau des légendes is way better

I finished watching Chestnut Man last night. What a great miniseries! Yesterday afternoon i decided to re-watch the first three episodes since i was getting confused watching it Saturday night. I guess taking two gummies while watching it didn’t help my focus! Lol. What caused my confusion was my difficulty to remember Scandinavian names & unfamiliar faces. But quickly re-watching the first two eposodes got me right back on track! I highly recommend this & hope they’re going to make a season 2!

Was on a long haul AC flight and found this on the selection: Slow Horses. A series about the career rejects of MI5 (UK's CIA) - Gary Oldman is one of the main actors.

J’aime vraiment cette série. Une de mes préférés. Gary Oldman est exceptionnel dans son rôle.

Thrillers are like sessions with your favorite SP: you know it's not really true but you want it to feel as plausible as possible. :)
In that sense, this netflix mini series isn't a good session.
There's a lot to like, good trailer, political plot, conspiracy and last but not least Bob De Niro!!
Unfortunately the more episodes you watch, the less plausible it gets and, really at the end it's getting pretty ridiculous.
I had great expectations for this so maybe i'm being a bit harsh but i was really disappointed, anyway, obviously i won't recommend this.

You aren't the only one. The reviews were all mediocre so I didn't waste my time. You would think DeNiro would know a bad script when he reads one. It's not like he hasn't read a few. But maybe he was offered a ton of money and good working conditions for the shoot and wants his Grandkids to go to Harvard. He certainly hasn't slowed down with his schedule and is taking lots of work.
