this is a confessional thread tho, so about taboo or ''weird'' or ''unusual'' or ''embarrassing'' things, and once again i dont think it's about agreeing or disagreeing, it's about people listening to his personal experience and the fact that someone classified it a certain way and invalidated his experience instead of just moving on to something else.
i'll go back to my example, i really don't like anal sex, but i'm not going to go ahead and tell women here who like it that it's strange of them to enjoy it and that they should only like vaginal sex.. it's a thread called ''the confessional''. men talking about sucking dicks aren't going to take over the board dont worry lol this was quite an anomaly around here.
it sparked an interesting conversation in my opinion, which you don't have to participate in if it makes you uncomfortable.. (which is also what i'm doing at the moment, ignoring threads and conversations that make me feel weird for my own sake. clearly that topic makes you uncomfortable. just like some other topics here make me feel bad so i'm trying to not respond to these threads)
Again you are making an assumption.
Gay sex doesn’t make me uncomfortable at all, I am simply not gay but I have nothing against whatever two consenting adults do.
What I do have a problem with is when someone disagrees with him then a whole paragraph of narrow mindedness comments follow.
This is what ticked me off not his confession
“If simplicity comforts you, and you chose to ignore the complexities of life and the grey areas because they are uncomfortable or perplexing or stressful or challenging of you preconceptions, that’s totally fine and you are free to believe it.
I think these kind of simplistic takes lack nuances and intellectual accuity. They describe incomplete realities and only serve to cuddle insecure or weak minds into intellectual safe spaces. Clearly the experiences I and other described here are reflecting that sexual attraction is an ambiguous subject matter. Locking those nuanced ambiguities into rigid and stricly limited categories seem intellectually lazy to me.
The sky is blue is a simple reality.
Behind that statement of reality lies many complicated things that does not necessarely, but could, contradict the original statement. Shades of blue, changing of the sky’s color during different periods or events, biological composition of the human eye and the subjective nature of the concept « sky ».
I think a smart person’s first reflex should always be to have the intellectual humility to confer that perhaps his conception of the world is an incomplete one, and that behind simple realities must, or at least could, lie complex nuances that he might not fully grasp in the moment.”
You like sucking dick and want to confess go right ahead, but don’t make yourself out to be intellectually superior to someone who doesn’t share your passion for sucking dicks.
