There are certain vacations when you are basically paying a huge part of the vacation for 2 anyway. An all inclusive is one where except for the air fare you are paying for 2 a cruise is another where you are paying for 2. I just came back from a Mediterranean family cruise where I paid for a balcony cabin for 2 and I was alone in it.
Obviously I couldn’t exactly bring along an escort on a family cruise.

I know that, hence my "sand to the beach" comments earlier, but it doesn't apply to what I was discussing as an example. Of course you can do that in many instances, and most mongers generally would most of the time, but there's also instances in which you can't or where you don't want to. The example I gave is one of them, potentially. There's no way I would go to Pattaya and bring an escort with me because frankly that would be stupid. What people seem to be missing is that there's a middle ground here where you can take someone with you somewhere without having to bring them from home. It's usually more practical for any of a number of reasons to grab someone from the country you're visiting or within the same geographic region of countries rather than bringing someone from home. People also ignore that the social dynamics are different for this kind of travel arrangement and that they needn't always necessarily be the same as they would if you were bringing a romantic partner with you. People seem to want to insist on comparing or equating the two types of relationships and that's neither practical nor empirically what happens in this type of adventure.
