Moving on from jeans and T-shirt

Having worked from home for the last 15 years I haven't felt the need to dress up for occasions. I'd like to move away from jeans and T-shirt.

I'm a bigger guy 6'1" and have a bit of extra weight. For the ladies and gentlemen in this forum what are some of the best upgrades I can go for and what is your favorite place in Montreal for a shopping spree.

For this I think I value quality over brands. I'm more interested in achieving the look of you know what I mean.

For the last 18 years I have worked in shirts (I could wear a different one everyday for a month or two lol) and suits. And currently I'm enjoying the very casual outfit and where nobody cares except when I visit clients.

We have the same build.

If you have time and budget friendly, you can try to find the rare item by visiting different Winners/Homesense.
Or jump to Premium outlet where you have a good concentration of retailers.

Otherwise less head scratching but more on the premium side, you can go to Royalmount or Holt Renfrew

That's refreshing to read in a world where so many don't seem to care about how they dress.

If you go on Ste-Catherine I would suggest Moores or Simons. Quality of clothes in this day and age is very variable, and often not great... Avoid shirts with spandex (elastane), even if just 2-5%, and avoid pants made of polyester.

There just is not much choice anymore at least in the mid range. Either there is too cheap or too expensive. Moores is the only place I know where I can buy classic dress pants or suits. All those other places make things for the metrosexual, too slim and modern. I want classic and old school. Even Harry Rosen which is luxury brand has mostly slim fit, where did the classic fit go? For someone who has extra pounds it is hard these days as the clothes are made for tall thin men with broad shoulders. Anyone know where to find portly fit suits for short man?

I do not get it. The stuff on Shein and Temu is all junk, cheap low quality stuff. I always said people got lazy and rather have things delivered to their home.

Renaissance has everything also. During my slow days, I wear clothes from
there.

For people who don`t have a lot of money it`s a way of getting cheap clothes, but for some of their customers, ordering from these sties is like playing a game.

If you want a quality suit find a tailor and have one made to measure.
He will help you pick out quality material to your liking,
Places like Moores are a cheaper alternative but you get what you pay for.

I’m in the same boat—I’ve been working from home as a freelancer for 15 years. T-shirts and shorts are my work clothes. I just upgraded, though; I bought myself some Manmade pants... sure, some might say they aren't exactly chic, but for me, it’s an upgrade, haha... and by the way, they are the most comfortable pants I’ve ever bought in my life. hehe
