I too questioned the decision of going with Jack "Soup" Campbell and letting Freddie Anderson go in free agency......this was by no means an upgrade. The Leafs have too much money invested in offense.....

Again McDavid with the 2 point per game production. He flirted with 2 points per game last season and finished with 1.875. Is this the season he does it for the first time since Gretzky/Lemieux?

The Hawks gambled that Fleury still has something in the tank, but maybe not. On the other hand Tampa Bay Bucs took the same gamble on Brady and at age 44 looks like they have the football equivalent of Gordie Howe in hockey and Nolan Ryan in baseball. It's rare to observe performance in sports at their advanced ages. What Brady is doing is completely unprecedented as nobody in the NFL has ever started at QB at age 44 let alone performed at All-Pro level. Fleury has reached an age (soon to be 37) when many or most goalies have their reflexes start slowing down, and their save % starts to slowly circle the toilet. Sometimes, the save % goes down fast like a lump of shit quickly vanishing down the toilet and out of sight. For example Jonathan Quick has sucked the last 4 seasons, it's amazing the Kings haven't gotten rid of him:

It's being reported that Quenneville ducking media due to Hawks report. Regarding the Hawks story, I am hearing that the video coordinator who abused Beach went on to another job, abused a 16 year old kid and is now a convicted sex offended in Michigan. He, or His family is going to sue the Blackhawks for enabling the predator to engage in his acts against that 16 year old boy. I also heard that the video coordinator of the Hawks told the Hawks back in 2010 it was consensual gay sex with Kyle Beach. I am not sure if they believed it was OK for their video coordinator to have gay sex with their 1st round pick (which they must have if they didn't fire him immediately), but it seems they believed him over Beach. But regardless of that, they should have fired him and now they have major liability problems.

WHAT A FUCKING MESS!

It is a mess indeed. Such a shame for an original six franchise with such a rich history to play any role in this.

i wonder if there will be any implications for Marc Bergevin? Wasn’t he employed by them at this time? He publicly stated he had no knowledge of the situation. But we will never know how widespread the knowledge was.

difficile situation.

I do not understand what the Blackhawks were thinking. Their 2008 1st round draft pick, who is just a kid at the time, tells them the Video Coordinator sexually abused him. Their other employee, the VC, tells them it was consensual gay sex. So, they chose to believe the VC, kept him employed, and he gets a Stanley Cup ring like everyone else when they win one later that season. So in this he said, he said factual dispute between 2 employees, the Hawks:

1. Apparently held an internal "trial" and believed their Video Coordinator over their 1st round draft pick;
2. Decided it was OK for members of team staff to have sex with the players rather than do their job to help the players.

I do not get it. How about quietly firing the video coordinator and nipping a possible further issue in the bud? I guess they thought that the VC and Beach were the only gay men on the team? (BTW Beach is NOT gay, he has a girlfriend).

Can someone explain to me what they were thinking or possibly thinking?

It's the Penn State scandal all over again. Apparently they did not learn from what happened to Joe Paterno trying to hide the same kind of shit.

Quenneville was forced to meet with Bettman. This shocking report suggests: (1) Quenneville lied to the media when he said he knew nothing about it in 2010, and (2) Quenneville is alleged to have demanded that the news be hushed during the playoffs that year (in which he led Chicago to the Stanley Cup), because he did not think the team would be able to handle the distraction:
BTW Quenneville is a great coach and is 7-0 with the Panthers and I would consider him a clear Hall of Fame coach, but this is going to tarnish him big time.
