Yea, the law is very similar in Canada. Law enforcement have to date chosen not go after agencies, but there is nothing in th law that prevents them from doing so in the future.

In the US case, the agency phone had over 5,000 customer names. Police went after the 35 clients with > 400 text messages with the agency. They had nothing more than text messages and footage from cameras in the building hallway.
Pretty sure there are laws in Canada that could technically take lots of this stuff down too.

How do some providers / agencies detect when you are using an app number? Are there certain apps that use numbers that appear legitimate?

Good question. But what kind of info do you mean? When I book with an agency I use by handle name and they got my cell#. Besides that they got no other personal information.

I've been reading the replies on this thread over the past 2 weeks and I'm seriously starting to consider leaving agencies an MPs alone... or at least taking a huge break from this activity. Scary.
