Considering Canada outshot Switzerland 46-23, i'd say that Canada played a very good game & Jonas Hiller was the difference maker. What a performance!

Hello Doc,

Maybe the Swiss just match up against Canada better than they do with the U.S.. But at least superficially when comparing how Canada and the U.S played against a common opponent I would be wondering how good either team really is. Maybe Canada matches up better against the U.S., maybe not. We'll see.

CONGRATULATIONS to Evan Lysacek of the U.S.A who executed his long program more effectively than Yevgeny Plushenko of Russia.

Cheers,

Merlot

-Jaroslav Halak got another shutout tonight as Slovakia blanked Lativa 6-0.

-In-rink announcer during hockey games is none other than former NHL goalie Marc Denis, who's been getting strong reviews by the people attending the games.

-Russia has decided to shake-up its lines for its next game and now the lines will look like:

Malkin will center Ovechkin and Semin. Datsyuk will center Kovalchuk and Afinogenov.

-The NHL is pissed at NBC that tomorrow's game between the USA & Canada will be broadcasted on MSNBC instead of on the major network, which chose to show figure skating (ice dancing) instead.

-Switzerland narrowly beat Norway in overtime. Norway's Vikingstad got a hat trick. He nearly scored the winner in overtime. Most people watching the game have stated that this was the best game so far in the tournament.

For tomorrow I have ticket for the three games.

Czech Republic vs Russia
Canada vs USA
Sweden vs Finland

After that, for men's hockey, no quarter finals, no semi finals and no Gold medal match, only the match for the bronze

Sorry, Clueless, but I think you have me confused with your idol Holliday, who has often documented on this board his great love for figure skating. You should be very aware of this, since having spent countless hours "hanging out" with Doc you have undoubtedly seen many of his priceless Battle of the Blades tapes.

By the way Holliday is also the world's #1 closet habs fan - although he has deleted most of his incriminating posts on this subject, others have quoted them and they therefore remain documented on this board.

Best wishes to you and your very close friend...and, oh yeah, enjoy watching BOTB. I'm guessing you and Doc will also be taping all figure skating events from the Olympics for your future viewing pleasure when you "hang out".

JMan if you have Comcast it's being shown on the MSNBC HD Channel, which in my area of Boston is 901.

I was thinking the HD feed would have been much better in Montreal...

Comcast here sucks...I have no MSNBC HD.
NBC sucks...I can watch ice dancing and curling in HD...
