DD41 I'm sure Merlot was referring to yesterdays loss and at which point we still haven't heard from Beav. Only on days they win, which really means we probably won't be hearing much from the good Beav at all this season. Lol.

Haha, K, all of us who are in the here and now, when we speak in the present tense mean that the event is happening NOW. I guess Merlot, who is not like the rest of us, when he speaks in the present tense, means yesterday. What contributes to his time warp?

About Beav, I have seen him post when the Yankees have lost. Beav isn'v some red sox fan we know who slams his 30 inch bat (that he wrestled away from some Little Leaguer he used to coach) into the television when his team loses, and refuses to post on merb that night.

Actually, not so, K. They're working on a revised schedule which will pit the Yankees against the ass-end of the Cleveland rotation. When this is released, they'll have 40 games each against Carrasco, Myers, and Jimenez.

Ah, C
oach rumps, the Yankees beat the Orioles last night, buddy. Yes, the Yanks beat the Orioles who you were so surprised that they were much better than you thought. Yanks beat the Orioles 2 out of 3 games.

Like Joe said, Kuroda pi
tched a gem of a shutout.

What a magnificent "Lights Out" performance by Kuroda against a team that totally and I mean totally manhandled the Red Sox, quite impressive considering that he is 38.
Great job, especially considering that the "Bombers" can't score more than three runs unless they're facing the ass-end of the Cleveland rotation.

And, yes, Kuroda was fabulous. On the Buchholz Scale, I'd give his performance a 7.5 out of 10.

...I guess Merlot,...when he speaks in the present tense,...

OMG,

Merlot...Merlot...Merlot. When did I start playing baseball???

That's two consecutive posts about me, the last at 2:26 AM.  What a life chasing my every word.

Stop being so angry and miserable.

Merlot was referring to yesterdays loss

One doesn't speak definitively about what has not happened yet...if you're sane.

..."Lights Out" performance by Kuroda...

The same "Lights Out" Kuroda who lasted 1.1 innings against the Boston Red Sox. Good one .t. :D

Buchholz flirts with history as Sox blank Rays
Righty falls six outs shy of second no-no; Napoli sparks four-run third
By Jason Mastrodonato / MLB.com

http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/ga...&mode=recap&partnerId=as_mlb_20130414_7150114

BOSTON -- Clay Buchholz's hair is much longer now, his beard fully grown in with shaggy hairs wrapping around his face.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia replaced Jason Varitek behind the plate. John Farrell replaced Terry Francona in the dugout. John Tumpane replaced Joe West as the home-plate umpire.

And Buchholz nearly made history again.

The 28-year-old carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning of the Red Sox's 5-0 win over the Rays on Sunday, coming six outs short of joining a list of 27 pitchers who have thrown multiple no-hitters in their career.

"It's fun to go out and pitch when you have all your pitches working," Buchholz said. "It doesn't happen every day. Probably five times a season for a starting pitcher."

Buchholz weaved his way through the struggling Rays lineup, which entered Sunday with fewer hits this season (70) than any other team in the American League. He picked his corners, perhaps nibbling a little too much at times as he walked four batters in the outing, but he wouldn't allow hard contact.

Continued...

We shouldn't get too exuberant since it was the struggling Rays. And, can it be that impressive that Clay beat that Suckfest in the House-That-Ruth-Didn't-Build when even their own fan cites how 19 million New Yorkers would rather get wasted than watch THEIR team. But...
0.41 ERA
How MAGNIFICENT!!!

Cheerz BOYZ,

Merlot

PS

Can't wait to see more about "Merlot"...by the obsessed. ;)

I think the Mvp, the rook of the yr and the all world jAckey bradley jr experiment is all but "ovah" for now boyz. Another 0-3 day now leaving him at a super .097 batting average and making a throwing mistake in the 9th that could of led to the Rays getting the go ahead run. Pawtucket, here comes the future best player in mlb history!

On another note, the red sox better get a reliable healthy closer or they wont have a chance at 4th place in the east this season.

That's could HAVE, Einstein, could HAVE. Yes, it could HAVE and if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

The train just rolls on along. Dempster, the signing of the year, now at 2.60. The only team in the division to have played all of the other East teams is now 8-4.

Wow is Atlanta Hot or what? Braves are 11-1, 3 1/2 games ahead of the NY Mets, and 4 games ahead of the Washington Nationals.

Atlanta has a young team. Oldest position player is Reed Johnson at 36, and oldest pitcher is Tim Hudson at 37. Justin Upton is on fire with 7 HR's and 11 RBI's in 12 games. Braves have outscored their opponents 62-22 in 12 games. What a start. I don't expect they will keep this pace, but I wouldn't be surprised if they win 100 games this season.

Rumps, you have quite an affinity for this aunt of yours, don't you. You mention her very often.

The CLASS of New York!!!

Hello all,

In wake of Marathon bombings, Yankees honor Boston, play Red Sox song, Neil Diamond's ‘Sweet Caroline' in Bronx

By Mark Feinsand / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...weet-caroline-wake-bombings-article-1.1318805

Some things are bigger than baseball. Following the tragic events Monday in Boston, it was clear to the Yankees that this was one of them.

In honor of the victims of the Boylston St. bombings, the Yankees observed a moment of silence before Tuesday’s game, while all flags at the Stadium were at half-staff.

And in what might have been the most touching tribute to their rivals, the Yankees played Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” a staple at Fenway Park, at the end of the third inning, prompting a tweet from the singer:

Back in 2001, the Red Sox played Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” in Boston as a tribute to the victims of Sept. 11.

“I think it’s important that we recognize that we’re all behind the people in Boston and everyone that was involved,” Joe Girardi said. “You think about that being a song that’s a tradition there, it’s special to Fenway Park and the people of Boston. We’re behind them. Put the baseball teams aside, we want to be there for them.”

“It gave me chills and it was emotional for me to hear that,” he said of the Stadium response. “The fans were into it and it was cool. It was very special and a very great tribute to an organization that is a rivalry, but in the grand scheme of life, it means nothing.”

On the scoreboard appeared a graphic of a ribbon with the Yankees and Red Sox logos, along with the words “New York Stands With Boston” and “Pray For Boston.”

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and the families who were affected by the bombings and our respect and admiration go out to the police, medical personnel and first responders who acted so heroically,” the Yankees said in a statement. “We stand united with the participants, volunteers, staff and spectators of the Boston Marathon and the people of Boston.”

The Yankees tweeted out a photo of a sign on the Stadium marquee in the Bronx on Tuesday featuring both the Yankees and Red Sox logos with the words “United We Stand” in between them.

“We stand united with the @RedSox,” the tweet said.

The Sox replied with a message of thanks on their official Twitter account, tweeting “Bigger than the game. Thank you!”

Red Sox 7 Indians 2

In the meantime Felix Doubront put on a more than adequate pitching performance for another Boston win.

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/red-sox-play-in-cleveland-with-boston-on-their-minds-041613

“It does — and it doesn’t,” Boston Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks said.

“It’s just a game. But at the same time, that game can take someone’s mind off what’s been going on, at least for a couple hours.

“Baseball, it’s not life or death. A lot of people are dealing with casualties and injuries and families torn apart. I’m not married. I don’t have children. But most people (in this clubhouse) do. That hits home. This is very important for everyone on this team.”

At locker after locker, during interview after interview Tuesday, Middlebrooks and his Red Sox teammates demonstrated how deeply and instinctively they understand their role in helping New England recover from Monday’s terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon.

Many Red Sox players were on the team bus, preparing to leave Fenway Park for Logan Airport, when they learned of the tragedy. “That bus ride,” Dustin Pedroia said, “was silent.” After a similarly quiet plane ride to Cleveland and reflective team dinner Monday, they remained visibly affected by the events when they reassembled for a three-game series against the Indians.

Pedroia called the bombings “the worst thing you could ever imagine” and mentioned that he was near the blast site the day before. Left-hander Jon Lester said determinedly that the country must come together, as it did after 9/11, to “show these people that this isn’t going to break us and continue to live our lives.” A grey Red Sox jersey bearing the “Boston Strong” rallying cry and 617 area code hung in the dugout throughout Tuesday’s game.

Even former Red Sox manager Terry Francona — who was in the opposite dugout Tuesday night — talked about how he saw the church in which his daughter was married while watching news footage of the explosions.

“We represent the Red Sox. Today, we’ll have ‘BOSTON’ across our chest,” Jonny Gomes said Tuesday afternoon. “We represent the people. There are some heavy hearts and good people on this team.

“We’re not getting anyone out of surgery with a win or a loss. This is a lifer here. The main thing is showing the Boston Red Sox aren’t laying down to this. We’re going to keep trucking. Hopefully we can set that character of attitude throughout the whole city.”

On that score, Bostonians could smile Tuesday night. Despite afternoon rain in Cleveland, the game started on time. Both teams wore black armbands in honor of the victims and stood solemnly on the baselines during a moment of silence before the game. And before darkness fell, the Red Sox had chased Indians starter Ubaldo Jimenez with a seven-run second inning.

Update:

Boston 6 Cleveland 3 on Wednesday.

Merlot

Do you realize that 13 of your most recent 25 posts contain a quote from either me or Merlot? Yes, fantasy baseball is a wonderful game. Obsessive fixation, however, is not at all wonderful. In fact, it's more than a bit creepy.

Here's an idea for you. Why don't you try ignoring both of us? I know for a fact that Merlot enjoys your constant surveillance not a whit more than I do.

Hey, rumps, I just find your posts kind of odd and funny. While it is true your Red Sox are off to a good start, as are the Yankees, declaring Cy Young and MVP winners, let alone candidates at this juncture (2 weeks old?) of the season, is somewhat freshman/sophomore fan level. Merlot sort of follows in your footsteps.

If
the Red Sox have a good season, then good for them. Boston has always made an effort in fielding good teams, as a team should for their customer fans. But I laugh when I read your posts, because you're very subjective towards building up the Red Sox while subjectively tearing down the Yankees, who are doing well despite their injuries, deficiencies and challenges.

Bo
th organizations are rebuilding and will face some challenges before either organization becomes a favorite to win the championship. But you never know. Any team can win. Currently, baseball has more parity than ever. It's exciting to watch.

Rebuilding teams do not sign players to short term contracts, such as those given out to Napoli, Gomes, Drew, Uehara, Ross and Dempster. Rebuilding teams do not trade for players who are in their contract years, such as Hanrahan. As is becoming more obvious by the day, the Red Sox are not rebuilding, they have reloaded.

Frankly i say let the "Cap'n" get fully healthy for the stretch run in the dog days :thumb: Same with the other injured Yanks, only come back when 110%.... until then Cashman will work his wonders, as is the norm.
