Doughty, Karlsson, Subban voted Norris finalists.

Will Subban add a second Norris by the tender age of 25 and several years before he reaches his prime :D

(Man his mantle must be getting crowded with his 2008 & 2009 WJC golds, his 2014 Olympic gold, and his 2013 Norris trophy. :eyebrows:)

I've bet big money on the 24 year old kid who plays for Ottawa to win his second Norris.

Bad year for great oldtime players continues with the passing of Hall of Famer Marcel Pronovost at age 84 - great Red Wing d-man, 4 Cups with the Wings, and the great-uncle of future Wing star Anthony Mantha. (At the tail end of his career Marcel won a fifth Cup - with the Leafs of all teams! Needless to say it was the LAST Leaf Cup, way, way, WAY back in 1967.)

Caps eliminate Islanders in 7th game by a 2-1 score.

But the REAL story is that in this FINAL game the Isles registered on 11 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????) shots!

Wings - Bolts will go a 7th game, thanks to Johnson. What's up with Stamkos? I don't know but I hope it continues for 1 more game because the Wings now have a tough job.

OK, mini-depression over. Game 7, the most exciting spectacle in sports.

There were positive takeaways - did everyone see Mrazek's save on Boyle?!? OMFG, wow. He made a number of great saves, in fact. Abby and Kronner made beautiful crushing hits.

Johnson is a stud. That's all.

I was feeling good about PK's chances before reading your post but now I'm 99.99% sure. Thanks monsieur le physician.

BTW I find it's a downright injustice that the 49 million dollar captain of the Leafs was not named once again this year. :(

To be honest, i thought he was already dead. I also didn't know he was related to Mantha.

I met him in person once. He was a hockey scout at the time. I think he was scouting for the OHL. Anyways, my grandfather was sitting next to him & when Pronovost heard my grandfather speak french, it caught his attention and they started a conversation. After the first period at the hockey game, my grandfather told me that he was sitting next to Marcel Pronovost. I remembered him being part of the Leafs teams of the 60's.

Well, the next thing you know, they began to argue about a certain player who happened to be one of my grandfather's favorite players. Like me, my grandfather had a bit of a temper and the next thing you know, he told Pronovost to go fuck himself & took a swing at him. Surprised, i went over & moved my grandfather to a different section. I grabbed him by the arm as he gave Pronovost the finger & told him to fuck off. Pronovost left the building a few minutes later.

So that's my Marcel Pronovost story. :D

Red Wings to be without their best defenceman for game 7

TAMPA, FLA. - The Detroit Red Wings won’t have their best defenceman in their biggest game of the season.

The NHL’s department of player safety announced Tuesday night that Niklas Kronwall has been suspended for one game — which just happens to be Game 7 against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday at Amalie Arena — for his hit on Tampa’s Nikita Kucherov in Game 6.

“What rises this infraction to rise to the level of supplemental discipline is the force with which the hit was delivered and the significant head contact that resulted from Kronwall launching into it,” the NHL said in the video explaining the suspension.

Kucherov left the game but returned. The charging incident happened in the second period of Tampa’s 5-2 win, and there was no penalty called.

It’s the first time in his NHL career Kronwall has been hit with supplemental discipline.

Kronwall has played an average of 23 minutes, 35 seconds through six games of the series, which is tied 3-3.

Kronwall suspended for extremely dirty hit

Unfortunate location of the hit. Kronwall's not a dirty player. He makes big hits, but he's not dirty. The NHL is so inconsistent... This is a big loss for the Wings.

A few years back Shea Weber knocked Henrik Zetterberg's head so hard into the boards during the playoffs, Z's helmet cracked, but all Weber got was a warning. I was fully expecting a warning for Kronwall, not a suspension. Sucks.

Sounds like somebody has a bromance going on :D

But he is the perfect human. :D His family's pretty perfect, too. All blonde and slim and polite and perfect. My parents used to be his neighbors. Both the Lidstroms and the Drapers. It was a pretty awesome town.

Forget about Pacman and Mayweather: the Grandpa Holliday - Pronovost fight is the one I REALLY would have paid to see!
