Ottawa played a good game ... Habs dint find the way to score ! It was nonsense that the glorious could do the clean sweep .
The sens faught hard !
:(

With less bad luck & Craig Anderson starting this series, the Senators could have easily have swept the habs tonight.

I do not agree Doc ! Still the habs won by only one goal that doesn't meen luck but hard work. They came back a few times to win the game . There's your hardworking team and tonight the sens fought harder than the habs. Therrien team won 20 games out of 50 by 1 goal . It's say a lot on the working habits , never lower your ams fight to the end and sometimes you win but not tonight !

It says more that Bob Gainey did one thing better than any GM except Pittsburgh's (Crosby) in the 2005 draft (Price) ;) Actually Pitts draft of Crosby was pure luck. Bob was a very very smart man with one vision in 2005. Kudos to BG. He took a lot of crap the last few years as GM in Mtl but every Mtl fan should be praising him now for that "choice"

I wonder if one guy around here still thinks the wrong guy was traded a few years ago (Halak) I am not a Habs fan but I sure am a Carey Price fan. A super talented and humble guy who lets his play do the talking, Subban should pay more attention and see what class is really all about.

Latest rumour......

Word out of Pittsburgh is that owner Mario Lemieux is ready to blow it all up & hire Mike Babcock as his GM/coach and give him all he wants at any price.

While it wouldn't surprise me to see Babcock get the same deal Patrick Roy got when he agreed to join Colorado, i believe Lemieux will come to his senses and not panic. He still has a good team and one of two best players in the world. He just hired a well-respected GM in Jim Rutherford and i can't see him firing that GM.

As for Babcock, watch him accept a VP of player personnel title along with coaching (similar to Roy) from a team willing to make him the highest-paid coach....if he doesn't join the Leafs.

I agree with iggy that Gainey did a good job in drafting and developing Price, but the head scout Trevor Timmons also deserves some credit. I still have not forgiven him for that Scott Gomez trade, one of the worst trades in franchise history. The thing that is hurting the penguins the most is injuries, they have lost some key defencemen.

Look behind you.
I see no concern with the Habs losing a game and can not see Ottawa winning the next 3. The extra revenue for another Montreal home game would be huge and the pubs will be packed. I had to reserve a seat at the bar for the next game, tried to go previously and no room. Not a Habs fan but like the pub atmosphere for a playoff game. It would be fun to wear a Connor McDavid #97 Oiler jersey there.... I will be wearing my Oiler cap ( conversation starter, some may feel sorry and buy me a drink  ).
I will be cheering for the Habs and Flames for the playoffs, doubt if they will meet but it would be nice.

Also want to note that with Bob Nicholson having full control over the Oilers should be a big plus.

Damn. Tampa stole one, and they know it. I guess that evens out Game 1. That Tyler Johnson kid is a gamer, he's got some moxie. Tip of the hat to him.

Fantastic comeback in detroit tonight by Tampa! Funny it all started when i decided to switch the tv over to watch this series for the first time this offseason and BAM! 2 goals by Tampa to tie it! Then the OT winner!!! I guess I better watch the next game! Go Tampa Go! (the quicker detroit is finished the quicker Babcock can make travel arrangements out of that horrible city)

The two quick scores happened when I muted the TV to call my credit card companies to notify them of Montreal travel. Cursed at Chase, and again at BofA! @#$*#@U(#@*U%*@#!!! Hope that's not a bad omen for my trip...

Like I said, this is going to be a great series. My dream scenario would be to wear my Red Wings visor to playoff games at MSG and the Bell Centre later this spring... But first thing's first... :D

Peter Chiarelli was hired by the Oilers, could it be the old Oiler management is on it's was out?
It would be nice to see Nicholson & Chiarelli put a winning team out.

Word is circulating that Kevin Lowe may find himself unemployed as early as today. McTavish & the coach next?

Then the OT winner!!! I guess I better watch the next game! Go Tampa Go! (the quicker detroit is finished the quicker Babcock can make travel arrangements out of that horrible city)

I started to watch that game just before Ben Bishop knocked the puck into his own net for Detroit's second goal. I figured there's no way they can come back after seeing their own goalie score into his own net. Later, i flipped the channel back on when Detroit was leading 2-0 with about 6 minutes left to go. I told myself "F$*&# Detroit will beat Tampa, which is just what f$&#$ Montreal wants!"

So i decided to watch something else. About 20 minutes later, i decided to check the final score on my smartphone and was totally caught by surprise when i saw that the score was now 2-2 and the teams heading into overtime.

So after the show i was watching at the time ended (at 10:01pm), i figured i'd watch the overtime and to my great surprise, Victor Hedman was getting interviewed and THE RED WINGS HAD LOST THE GAME!!!!!

Unbelievable!!! And now, it'll be be extremely demoralizing for Detroit. They were leading by two goals with only a few minutes left to play, enroute to a commanding 3-1 lead in their series. But their bubble got deflated & the series is now tied 2-2 instead of them leading 3-1. What total change in momentum!!!!

My guess is that the Babcock family's bags are already packed & he'll soon sign with someone else (who knows....maybe Edmonton, with McTavish being nothing but Babcock & Chiarelli's puppet?) within a couple of weeks after being eliminated by Tampa.

p.s. Again today, a hockey panel on a hockey talk show referred to the Bruins as being complete idiots for getting rid of such a good hockey man.

Peter Chiarelli replaces Kevin Lowe & Craig MacTavish as President of Hockey Operations & General Manager of the hockey team

I must admit that i was surprised when i watched this afternoon's press conference to see that both Kevin Lowe & Craig MacTavish were replaced by one man, Peter Chiarelli. I knew that Chiarelli was joining the Oilers, but not in such a capacity & not as early. This is great news for Oilers fans!

Kevin Lowe was moved over to the vice-chair of Oilers Entertainment Group position. It's a non-hockey position & he will no longer be involved with hockey decisions. As for Craig MacTavish, he will still work for the Oilers organization, but in which capacity we don't know.

Peter Chiarelli will report to one person, CEO Bob Nickolson.

THESE ARE GREAT MOVES BY THE EDMONTON OILERS AND IT WILL BE EASIER TO HIRE A QUALITY COACH AND POSSIBLY ATTRACT QUALITY FREE AGENTS.

My money's on Claude Julien to become the Oilers' head coach should he get fired by the Bruins.

Peter Chiarelli joins Oilers

San Jose to interview Randy Carlyle for vacant head coach position

The San Jose Sharks have received permission to interview Randy Carlyle for their head coach position. Carlyle has had very good success in the past when he coached in the Western Conference and many feel he'd be a good fit in San Jose.

Is it just me noticing that there a lot of Michigan Wolverine alumni playing important playoffs roles? Hagelin, Cogliano, Pacioretty (is he making an impact yet?), Glendening... Go Blue!

Missed the game last night but if the Canadians Defense (and offense) keep playing like that, Joe.T my friend, that parade will be cancelled pretty early this spring. What happened to Price??? Ottawa has all the momentum now.
