Congrats to Two Very Deserving Winners

The great Patrice Bergeron won his third Selke. Only Bob Gainey with four has ever won more...but Patrice isn't finished yet. Great stuff!

Also, the great Steve Yzerman, not only a Hall of Fame player and one of the best and most courageous of all time but also one of the most brilliant hockey minds ever, won a long-overdue award as Best GM.

Congratulations to two great, gutsy and superbly talented individuals - both among the all-time cream of the crop in the hockey world.

Totally agree, Mr.Joelcairo.

Patrice Bergeron is deserving of this award and many more. Love to watch him play as well as watching Gainey.

How long has Steve Yzerman been a G.M. ? What he has done to make this franchise back into serious contention

is quite remarkable. Congratulation !

I would like to add Carey Price to the above two great people in our beloved sport.

I admired his humility in accepting these awards and then said he has to be better. This man is going to win the

Stanley Cup. He just knows it.

Kessel, Kessel...Kessel. What to do ? That is a good question. Babcock dislikes Kessel more than Pheneuf. Says a lot doesn't it ?

I have read (sources ) that the leafs are demanding far to much for Kessel. Not surprised at all.

They, the leafs, made this ridiculous contract, both amount and time, and now don't want him and want something

substantial in return. Really !! Welcome to the real world.

My feeling is that the leafs will not do well, at all, in this trade, if it happens at all.

Lets face it. If Kessel were signed at, let say, 5.5 million, with 2, maybe and a big maybe, 3 years remaining his his contract....he would be gone.

He better not be traded to one of my teams.

Speaking of not being traded to one of my teams, Thankfully, the Detroit Red Wings are not interested in Dion Pheneuf.

Kind of a funny situation, no ? I kind of feel that the Wings, with Babcock on the other side, realise that, if Babcock doesn't want him, does

say a lot about the deal the leafs made with Pheneuf.

The trade is not what I am interested in. What if they can't move these guys and are stuck with them and or,

they get very little in return, where is the rebuild.

Shanahan has never run a team in the role he is in.

The worst part is that he came into this marriage knowing that this was not clean slate. There was terrible baggage ( a losing culture, over paid salaries, along with ridiculously long term contracts ) that he would soon find out.

All he has done on , let say, major moves, is fire the coach, G.M., fill in coach, and get rid of Clarkson's awful contract.

Now what ?? HELP !! Now this is where Babcock comes in. And even in the news, one could see that Shanny saw Babcock as his saviour.

Shanahan would be incapable of doing this without the likes of Babcock.

Now as far as Babcock is concerned, I wish him and Shanny well but...........

Concerning, both really, most especially Babcock, has anyone head of the Peter Principle ?

As i predicted two weeks ago, the Bruins didn't have the cap room to re-sign Carl Soderberg, so they gave him to Colorado for a 6th-round pick. Today, the Avs announced that they had signed him to a 5-year contract worth $23.75 million. I'm surprised Boston didn't get more for him since there were several suitors after him. They literally gave him away.

The Bruins also need to re-sign defenceman Dougie Hamilton. Even though several teams are also after him, i can't see Boston dealing him away unless it's for a high first-round pick in this tonight's draft.

By the way, i keep hearing that the Habs will be very active starting today until July 2nd. I do know for a fact that they're actively shopping around Plekanec, Markov and Eller. They'd also like to get rid of DD, but no one's interested in him. I'm also hearing that Brandon Prust may be being shopped around, but my most reliable sources can't confirm it. But it made me wonder: What happens to Marie-Pier Morin, recently engaged to him, if her beloved 'Prusty' gets traded to a place, say Columbus or Minnesota? Will it destroy the romance, which i've been told isn't as solid as people believe it is? Inquiring minds want to know.

As i mentionned a few weeks ago, the Senators were looking at moving at least one of their goaltenders. Today, they dealt Robin Lehner and David Legwand to the Buffalo Sabres for the 21st overall pick.

Tim Murray just gave his uncle Bryan a nice gift. Giving up any first-round pick for a goaltender these days is rare. And it's not even Cam Talbot, who may go to either Edmonton or Calgary later today. Not only that, but Buffalo agreed to pick up David Legwand's contract, which was a huge favor to Ottawa.

Can not see Calgary taking Talbot with Hiller & Ramo in the net, they played ok last year and the Flames have nothing to give. But stranger things have happened.
It is going to be an interesting day.

Don Sweeney's first move as new GM of the Bruins and he took an ass-raping practically giving away Doug Hamilton to Calgary for a 15th, 45th, and 52nd overall pick in tonight's draft. A first and two seconds. Not good as far as I'm concerned!

Give it up ... you're fooling no one

As i predicted two weeks ago, the Bruins didn't have the cap room to re-sign Carl Soderberg,

Yet another fraud alert. You made made your "prediction" on 6/19 but Soderberg's situation was widely discussed and known long before that ...

Totally happy with Mitch Marner as a Leaf! Great young prospect and a local boy to boot! Don Cherry must be a happy camper right about now.

My predictions are all coming true in regards to the Bruins. Next to go may be Rask & Chara. It almost seems like poor Claude Julien is being set up to fail. Just watch, they'll use him as scapegoat and he'll be fired by Christmas.

I don't like the Dougie Hamilton trade. But i've been told that Boston were never as high on him as the rest of the league. I've also learned that he was never comfortable in Boston and wanted to play elsewhere. So it seems that both parties got their wish.

But what i really don't get are the three picks they made. Debrusk was a projected late first rounder and the other two were ranked as second-rounders. The Bruins' picks baffled a lot of people. Many believed they'd try to package their three consecutive mid-round picks and convert them into a high first-round pick. Many believed they were after Noah Hanifin and would try to coax Arizona into a trade. It never happened and they made three very questionable picks.

I bet you did not predict something similar with your beloved leafs last year.

The difference is that Claude Julien has a one year contract and will find a job, if he gets fired.

While Carlyle was given a two year contract, let go and the leafs ruined his career, like so many.

What's funny is that the Bruins were predicted to win the 2016 Stanley Cup at 18-1 odds, tied with Nashville.
