The Boston Bruins owner told the media yesterday that Cam Neely had wanted to fire Peter Chiarelli for a long time. This means that the firing wasn't hockey-related, but personal.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn in the future once Claude Julien gets fired that Neely also wanted to fire him a few years ago, but was prevented to do so by Chiarelli and more recently by the owner who has to pay Julien's contract.

Sure, Kadri has struggled also. But he wasn't the 3rd-overall pick. Throughout the season and playoffs, most of the Mtl media agreed with me, by the way. Much more was expected from Galchenyuk at this point in his career. He's no longer a rookie, he's been in the league for 3 seasons and hasn't progressed much. In other words: HE SUCKS!!!!

Even IF someone was to buy all this, guess what? You STILL have not refuted Ballsamic's excellent and very accurate post, which clearly explained that Galchenyuk is younger, had more goals, more assists. more points, a better plus/minus, AND was signed for only 2/3 (approximately) of the price TO paid for Kadri.

CLEARLY the Habs got a far better deal...and that's even without taking into consideration that Kadri was suspended by his own team and publicly criticized by Shanny!

The 48 year trend is continuing for the Leafs, aka Canada's National Embarrassment.

As usual, Ballsamic wiped the floor with you.

As i was saying....Kadri wasn't a 3rd overall pick. I also have never been big on Kadri & would have preferred that the Leafs drafted a Christian hockey player. But at least they didn't draft a fucking Russian. And again, Galchenyuk was a 3rd overall pick and much more is expected for a third-overall pick, especially after 3 years in the league. At least Kadri isn't owned by the Russian mafia.

Excellent insight as always MISTER H! (keep pulling those strings, lol)

Here is an EXCELLENT article on Lou Lam from a former player of his, Ken Daneyko.

I will ignore your ignorance.

The point being, the leafs i.e. the present re-build, signed Kadri at 4.1 million.

Kadri was drafted 7th. I repeat.......7th.

He has played in the league 6 years. I repeat........6 years.

And this the first steps of a re-build.......good luck.

Galchenyuk signing is similar to the bridge contract that Subban and Price signed for.

The Semin signing for 1.1 million is a gamble but at a low cost. Semin has stated that he and his family want to stay

in North America and has expressed no interest in playing in the KHL. This is his last chance and he knows it.

Having Markov, Emelin and Galchenyuk (though born in the U.S.) should make Semin more comfortable due to the fact

that no one spoke Russian in Carolina.

I see nothing wrong with Kadri's salary, obviously Shanny and Company see something in him to give him a raise and he did improve his overall game last season and became a more defensively sound Centre, something they specifically asked of him. I am anxious to see how he does under the guidance of MISTER Babcock as well as MISTER Lou Lam.

Galyenchuck got similiar money to what Kadri made in his second contract putting up similiar numbers but not being defensively sound, now he is more so. Galyenchuck will likely make 4-5 mil after this 2 yr bridge contract if he puts up 40-50 points like what is expected of him. Will he ever be a ppg guy? Time will tell but i doubt it, not in Montreal anyways.

Nice article on Kadri's salary compared to others with the same type of skills.

I say just move the Mtl Canadians to the KHL then all four of them will never be homesick again, problem solved.

The article is trying to JUSTIFY why Shanny and company gave Kadri such a ridiculous contract.

The article is for leaf fans to consume. I see it as the start of a new soap opera.

The article is 100% factual and correct, if it bothers you so much that you have to "TRY" to falsely justify it then try doing something else, oh i dont know maybe like posting something to actually help the community like a review maybe?

I didn't want to ruffle your feathers but you may not have noticed but there was a leaf logo

at the top of the article and I found it rather bias, in that, it was justifying the contract.

I can see that it sure convinced you. Not me. Bad contract.

ROFL! Good contract, or should i say "fair" contract, it can become good or great depending on next season and having MISTER Babcock to mentor Nazem. It could turn out well or not, who knows? Now how about a review, buddy?

ps.....No worries bro, I never have my feathers ruffled about anything in cyberspace, Especially over sports, but i see others do ;)

"Good contract, or should I say 'fair" contract.... Mr. Ciaro, you are getting to him:thumb

Galchenyuk contract is also a ' prove yourself contract ' but after 6 years.........a 4.1 million contract...bad, simply bad.

New Management, Same Result: Leafs Lose Again

Tie Game Bernier wanted $5.1 million for one year.

The Leafs offered $2.89 million for one year.

They settled on TWO YEARS (!!!!!!!) for $8.3 MILLION.

Winner: Tie Game Bernier. Loser (AGAIN): The Leafs.

Plus ca change plus ca reste pareil.

Perhaps the only thing Tie Game Bernier is unhappy about after taking the Leafs to school is that they haven't also signed his hockey idol Nelson Mandela.

Kind of sad actually: I remember when Lou used to be a really good GM.

Meanwhile a lot of the totally gullible Leaf fans will love this signing...just like they loved the Komi, Clarkson, Kessel, Phaneuf and Horton (ha ha) signings that have kept the hopeless Leafs in their familiar position near the cellar.

Well... after 48 consecutive years of failure...it just seems normal for this sad sack franchise and its super-gullible fans.
