Tremblay never was the sharpest crayon in the box. Give him full credit for COLORADO'S Cups however.

I hope he will be suspended by RDS. You don't say bad things about PK in montreal.

Until January/February, most of the Mtl media were saying the same things about PK. Guy Carbonneau even said on L'Antichambre that PK wasn't even among the top 50 defencemen in the NHL.

In other words, what Tremblay said was probably true. We also should give the guy a break since his wife died from a long battle with cancer at around the same time of the arrest.

Want to know who was Subban's biggest critic (in the media) just a couple of years ago? None other than current coach Michel Therrien, who was one of the panelists on L'Antichambre prior to becoming (for the second time) the habs coach again. Night after night, he was bashing Subban on the tv talk show. Yet, he managed to get the coaching job.

Look behind you.
Good to see that the Flames have a shot at the playoffs this year. A team with no marquee players just great coaching and player chemistry. Being an Oiler fan it burns seeing that but..... .

The Flames have marquee players, just not a marquee market! ;) Kidding, I agree.

Jiri Hudler was a very good Red Wing. It's pretty awesome to see him get the opportunity for an expanded role and really grab hold of it, and blossom into a true star. He's having a great year. Great result for a great guy.

I agree. There is a lot to like about these Flames. Bob Hartley & Brian Burke have done a great job with this team.

Same goes for the Ottawa Senators & Florida Panthers, who are trying to sneak by the disappointing Boston Bruins for the final playoff spot. The Sens now trail the Bruins by only a single point with a game in hand. They are led by forward Bobby Ryan & defenceman Erik Karlsson, who are both playing great. Head coach Dave Cameron has the team playing extremely well & deserves a lot of credit.

Same with Gerard Gallant's Florida Panthers, who beat the Bruins in a shootout yesterday. The Panthers may not make the playoffs, but they have a lot to look forward to in the future. It's too bad the local fanbase doesnt' feel the same way, which will likely lead to the Panthers relocating in the not-too-distant future. Why stay in a market to lose money?

If the Bruins miss the playoffs, i expect Claude Julien to be axed by management. It wouldn't surprise me to also see GM Peter Chiarelli getting fired, and the team unloading several of its expensive veterans (e.g. Zdeno Chara, Milan Lucic, etc). This team is going nowhere right now & missing the playoffs will give management the excuse to overhaul the team. The team also needs to rest Tukka Rask. They also need to show more emotion. That aspect was deplorable last night during their shootout loss. They seemed to be simply going through the motions during the shootout and this must have been somewhat demoralizing for their goalie (the one who can't seem to beat the habs).

My predition is that the Ottawa Senators will pass the Bruins and make the playoffs. The Bruins are playing in Tampa tonight and i'd be very surprised if they beat the Lightning. They Sens will now also have 2 games in hand on the Bruins following tonight's contest.

Where did Merlot go? I don't see any posts on this thread for a few pages. Didn't think he would be one to retire from MERB... Heh, I lasted 3 weeks and have been sucked right back in...

I hope his Bruins come back against Tampa. The Wings need some help to get back in this race.

He's serving a minor in the MERB penalty box for a short time. Lol.

Bolts leading Bruins 4-1 after two. I win another $200 if Boston loses this one. That next trip to Mtl may end up being sooner than later! :thumb:

During the game, the french announcer said that Dougie Hamilton suffered a shoulder injury against Florida last night & there's a chance he may miss the rest of the season. Krecci is the Bruins' own version of Joffrey Lupul and he's still injured. Rask was pulled after the 4th goal & the backup goalie has played great. He looks tired & so does Chara. Only player giving much of an effort is Lucic. This team looks like it may have given all it had and has now thrown in the towel, not believing it will make the playoffs. Maybe they're saying 'why bother?' since they know they'll have to face Mtl again, plus they know they don't have a chance of making it past the first round.

The GM didn't help them during the trade deadline. He only made one acquisition and that player (Brett Connolly) didn't play a single game since he got injured for the rest of the year at practice.

Tough times ahead in Boston....

Hey Doc, was it you that said Cam Neely hates Claude Julien and wants any decent excuse to fire him? If so and that is true, Neely may get his wish very soon.

PS, when did you move to Texas?

PSS, with all this money you are winning, I expect to see you in May

Yes, it was I who mentionned several times that Cam Neely was never a big Claude Julien fan & was just waiting for a good excuse to fire him. This has been going on since the year they won the cup, led by Tim Thomas' greatness during that playoffs run. It feels like ages ago today.....

By the way, my move to Texas was short-lived. I had hoped to talk some sense into fellow Canadian Ted Cruz & tried to have him move back to Calgary, but i wasn't successful. So back in Canada i'll be moving back as soon as it gets warmer up there.

I won again late last night & collected my earnings earlier today. I've been on quite a roll lately! The Sens, Rangers & Tampa have been very good to me....so have the Bruins, but in a different way!

P.K. Subban fined third time for diving

NEW YORK -- Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban has been fined $3,000 for diving in a game against Ottawa, his third fine in three months.

He paid up after getting warnings twice in January for diving against Tampa Bay and the New York Rangers. A third citation for the dive on March 12 against the Senators triggered the $3,000 fine.

If he gets another warning this season, he will be fined an additional $4,000, and Montreal coach Michel Therrien must pay a $2,000 penalty.

Subban fined record third time for diving

p.s. In other news, the slumping Boston Bruins are no longer a playoffs team. Ottawa beat SJ last night & lead the Bruins by a point with a game in hand.

$3,000 - wow, that's a lot of money! Gee, I really hope the poor guy can afford it on his salary and doesn't have to take on a second job to pay it!

The fine is indeed pocket change for a grossly overpaid player such as Subban. However, the next time he gets fined, his coach will also be fined. This is where the rule acts as a deterrent.

p.s. Nashville's OT win last night against the habs netted me a cool $200. Yes!!!! :thumb:

If Boston fails to make the playoffs, Claude Julien will be fired and he will be the new coach of the leafs. You read it here !!

A well-known local media personality who's a big Bruins fan said yesterday on a radio show that the GM (Peter Chiarelli) will also get fired if Julien goes. I hadn't realized this, but Cam Neely wasn't part of management when Chiarelli was named as the GM. Usually new appointees in management positions want to bring in their own people. The Bruins missing the playoffs will be the perfect excuse for Cam Neely to make a spring cleanup.

As for Julien possibly being named the next Leafs coach should he get fired, i'd be all for it. However, my money's still on Babcock coaching the Leafs, and there will be a lot of suitors out there for both Babcock and Julien once the season ends. One of them may also wind up in San Jose or Philadelphia, among other teams.

Bruins lost a heartbreaker to the Ducks last night. The Bruins were leading 2-1 with less than a minute left when the Ducks pulled their goalie and tied it. In overtime, they scored and won the game. Ottawa lost, but still leads the Bruins with two games in hand. Florida also won & gained a point on the Bruins. However, the battle for the final playoff spot is really between Ottawa and the Bruins.

In Winnipeg, the Jets got badly outshot by the hated Habs, but Dustin Tokarski couldn't stop a beach ball and the Jets easily beat them 5-2. The best player for the habs was the diminutive Brendan Gallagher. Other than Pacioretty and Gallagher, the players the forwards the habs have counted on haven't done much this season: Galchenyuk, Eller, Plekanec and Desharnais. Smith-Pelley has been a major bust. By the way, Petry & Emelin were minus 4 last night. Ouch!!

However, the Doc is $200 richer after last night's game!! :thumb:
