Like me, my grandfather had a bit of a temper and the next thing you know, he told Pronovost to go fuck himself & took a swing at him.

Forget about Pacman and Mayweather: the Grandpa Holliday - Pronovost fight is the one I REALLY would have paid to see!

Unfortunate location of the hit. Kronwall's not a dirty player. He makes big hits, but he's not dirty. The NHL is so inconsistent...

I agree. Quintal hasn't done a very good job replacing Shanahan, whom i find did a great job as the head of NHL player safety in the past.

I'll bet you that had Kronwall played for Montreal, at the most he would have received a small fine.

Exactly. The fact that he was NEVER previously suspended or even fined in 11 years is the proof.

Unfortunately, Kronwall's feet left the ground in that hit which the league took into consideration.

This series should have been over. The Wings blow the 4th game but were up 2 in game 5 and that time they got the win.

Game 6, line changes and bad defensive play cost them the game. I say GO WINGS GO !!

Montreal Canadiens and the Detroit Red Wings have not meet in the playoffs since 1978, come on boys, lets make it happen tonight.

BOYZZZ!

Unfortunately, Kronwall's feet left the ground in that hit which the league took into consideration.

No one suggested Kronwall was a thug or cheap shot artist, but how the hit was done cannot be dismissed regardless of the personal record.

I'd love to see Detroit VS Montreal just for the entertainment of you guys going at it, especially with JC invested so deeply...maybe even more than his usual Leafs obsession. I've got popcorn begging to be nuked. The two teams should be a good chance for some real rumbling. DAMN, I'd buy JC an hour with one of Montreal's finest just to see Kronwall make that same move on the oh so deserving sleazy Subban. BOOOOM!!!

Cheers,

Merlot

Karlsson was -11 thru Dec and + 18 since then

clearly underperformed in big Mac's dismissal-worthy system

It ain't Paul MacLean's picture on that card. Most people who aren't into sportscards collecting wouldn't know this, but this isn't Paul MacLean pictured on his rookie card. It looks a bit like him & the guy has a mustache (like most guys back in the day), but when approached about this years later, Paul MacLean pointed out that the guy pictured on his rookie card is actually some nobody named 'Larry Hopkins'. MacLean has no idea how OPC managed to screw this up & have some guy named Larry Hopkins on MacLeans rookie card.

p.s. If you would have asked me who it looked like, i probably would have guessed Clark Gillies. But MacLean is convinced that it's some guy named Larry Hopkins.

If the hockey gods are fair, the Wings should win this series.

God fuck it, I have such a sick feeling in my stomach right now... Bishop has been so shaky and we haven't been able to capitalize yet. Come on, Go Wings!!!!!!

It's OK, Iggy. At least our lights were on! :D

That actually makes me feel a little better, thinking of sad Leafs fans all over Canada and how they'll not sniff playoffs again next year. :nono:

Hey, it's not so bad. We lost to a good team with the great Stevie Y as GM, we made it into the playoffs for the 24th consecutive season, we have a great future with the young guns, we lasted the full 7 games despite missing 2 key d-men in game 7 (plus Cole for the whole series), we outplayed them in every way in game 7 (except on the scoreboard, where Bishop was solid with his 31 saves and our guys couldn't finish), and best of all Petr Mrazek got some playoff seasoning that will help next year when we make the playoffs for the 25th consecutive year.

Now if you were rooting for the Leafs (ha ha ha), THEN it would be very understandable if you took time off work - in fact not just "tomorrow" but maybe the next 48 YEARS in celebration of how long Toronto has sucked the big one.

No shame whatsoever in losing to a Steve Yzerman team.
