Look behind you.
My Glorious Edmonton Oilers ( Henceforth to be called GEO to save typing ) play tonight. Hoping to see a far better team than in previous years. Side note that the Flames got pounded by Vancouver last night, good for GEO fans.

I was impressed by the Leafs' effort. However, familiar story: the difference in the outcome was once again Carey Price. I have a feeling that this season won't be that much different than last year's for the habs.

What a comeback by the Rangers !!

I spoke to a former Rangers player at the Leafs game tonight. Bob Nevin. I told him he looked good! He joked that he was thinking of putting on his skates again & show these players out there how to play the game. Nice guy.

Congratulations on the first ever Win for Mister Mike Babcock tonight in Columbus Ohio (why do they have a team and not Quebec City) as a member of Thee Toronto Maple Leafs! First of many for Babs in the next 8 seasons and hopefully a Cup or two :D

GO LEAFS GO!

When people meet me and joke about the Leafs, i remind them that they played extremely well against the habs and the Sens, and actually ouplayed and outshot them. They simply ran into a hot goalie and/or bad luck. They severely outplayed Columbus last night. I'll take one bad game out of four anytime!

Pittsburgh is in town tomorrow. I expect a lot of boos for Kessel. I have a hunch that the Leafs may get at least a point, even though they'll be playing on consecutive nights.

What happens with the Ducks......cant't believe it........they are the favourites of many to win the Cup.........but NO WIN in 4 games............and worst....Getzlaf -Perry have no point ......just incredible.................Boudreau is on the hot seat..........next games will b crucial for him............

The same lame excuses again?

* ran into a hot goalie

* played well but lost

* lost due to bad luck

* out shot opponent but lost

* lost due to back-to-back games

Many teams are struggling. The Bruins are one of the worst and are rumoured to be shopping Chara and other of their bigger names. It seems like it's only a matter of time before they fire Claude Julien, which is what Cam Neely and the GM wanted all along (but ownership told them no). But it'll probably happen around X-mas time or after. Chicago is struggling, the Flyers, the Penguins, Sabres, Jackets, Hurricanes, Flames....and the Oilers are winless, but that's no big surprise. The Rangers have been just okay....will they be able to replace Martin St-Louis' scoring and leadership? The Oilers are a team that isn't that much different from last year's team. Plus maybe too much faith has been placed into the hands of Peter Chiarelli, who let's be honest, destroyed the Boston Bruins with some of his trades (the worst one being Tyler Seguin to the Stars). Todd McLellan came with high credentials, but he was coaching a team loaded with superstars in San Jose and missed the playoffs last season. Montreal is rolling right now, but it's the same team as last season and once again they owe a lot of their current success to Carey Price. What'll happen if he gets injured?

You are correct. Thanks for pointing this out. I predict a Leafs win. The Pens are a team in trouble right now. They seem like a team whose stars hate playing for that coach. I actually believe he'll get fired before Julien. I also have never been that impressed with MA Fleury's goaltending.

The problem with the Pens is that most of their salary budget goes to 3-4 players. The rest get peanuts and you usually wind up with stiffs playing around a couple of superstars when it happens.

What do you think of Plekanec's extension?? Jean-Charles Lajoie is probably having nightmares since the announcement! lol

One year too many and a million per season too much. He went from a #1 centre (which he never was but paid to be one by default like Bozak) to a #2 and gets a raise??? overall not horrible since it was "only" 2 years.

I was kind of seeing it that way also and i'm curious what others think about it. At the end of the playoffs, it seemed like a lot of fans wanted to run his ass (along with Markov's) out of town considering their poor playoffs performance again. But in Markov's case, he was simply burnt out from being overused throughout the season once again. Plekanec has never been a bonafide #1 center. He reminds me of Tyler Bozak. But like Toronto, the Habs haven't had a true #1 center since Pierre Turgeon and possibly Saku Koivu (although many would say he was more of a #2 center). Now they're hoping that Galchenyuk will thrive at center. I'm not sure he will. He has all the talent in the world, but his problem may be attitude. He looks like a very selfish player and still hangs on to the puck too long. He'll have to realize that his job is to be a playmaker and use his wingers better.

Where would this team be without Carey Price and Max Pacioretty? Sure, several of Pacioretty's goals this season were either a fluke or in an empty net, but he's really still the only offensive thread they have at the forward position. PK is good, but he has his faults. The powerplay still hasn't clicked like they hoped it would. Let me make an easy prediction: the winner of the Molson Cup will once again be Carey Price.

I like the Plecanek signing. He's not a superstar, but he is the kind of player every team needs. He plays a lot of the dirty minutes and you can throw him out there in any situation. He would have been one of the most highly sought after UFAs if he had hit the market, and he probably would have gotten a similar contract for a longer term...

Where would this team be without Carey Price and Max Pacioretty?

Same place Pittsburgh would be without Malkin and Crosby, Chicago without Toews and Kane etc... This is a really silly critique of the Habs. Where would the Leafs be without..... erm.... Babcock and Lamoriello? (Sorry bad example...)

What people forget is that the Habs drafted Price when they were already stacked at the goalie position. They developed him. They hung on to him over Halak when most fans wanted the opposite. This is what good organisations do. Draft well and be patient. Galchenyuk is the next player to join the list of players the Habs would suck without... "The Habs suck... take away Price, Pacioretty, Subban and Galchenyuk and they would be ordinary..."

Stacked at the goalie position?? Who did they have when they drafted Price? I hope you're not referring to Halak, who only shown (and it was surprising) when Price faltered and was benched in favor of Halak.

I don't think much of Galchenyuk. He seems way too full of himself and hasn't proven anything yet. He looks like an asshole and his under strict control of his father and his bitchy sister.

He makes PK look like an angel. lol
