Stacked at the goalie position?? Who did they have when they drafted Price? I hope you're not referring to Halak, who only shown (and it was surprising) when Price faltered and was benched in favor of Halak.

I don't think much of Galchenyuk. He seems way too full of himself and hasn't proven anything yet. He looks like an asshole and his under strict control of his father and his bitchy sister.

He makes PK look like an angel. lol

They had Theodore coming off a Hart trophy the year before the lockout, Huet was the backup after they traded Mathieu Garon. They also had a young Yann Danis who was a decent looking prospect and they had drafted Halak in 2003. Most draft analysts were shocked that they chose Price given their organizational depth at the position and other needs elsewhere on the roster.

It turned out that Theodore shat the bed in the 2005 season, and was subsequently shipped out. But all this was after the draft, so taking Price was indeed a move where they picked talent over need.

Thumbs up to the unbeaten Canadiens! This team is better than last year's team. The Red wings also have a good team. I'm Sure they don't miss there old coach. The Leafs lost again last night, all is well. Life is good!

I've just returned from a fabulous two-month vacation and I'm pleased to see that GoHabsGo is still one of the most accurate and articulate hockey posters around. He has an excellent and totally unbiased knowledge of the game. More posts, please, GHG - your insightful input is extremely valuable to this board. Two thumbs WAY up :thumb::thumb:

Congrats to Dylan Larkin on his great play so far. Still a teenager and "only" the 15th pick, while we can all think of at least one very high pick who is not even playing in the NHL. Great job by Red Wing scouting and management as usual. Even though they never get high picks, they consistently manage to amaze through brilliant drafting and developing their own talent - the exact opposite of those woebegotten teams that invariably try to BUY their players from better franchises - and equally invariably end up shelling out multimillions for a pack of overpriced, undertalented, uncaring losers.

I predict a Leafs win.

Will you be providing updates in the standings as you've done in previous years? I (and other board members) appreciated this service.

Will you also be providing commentary, such as "Look who's # 1" , or "get used to it folks" ?

Likely as soon as you learn to post your trolling, baiting and SD posts in the correct thread ;)

Could the Leafs be the ones to give the Canadians their first defeat tonight? Doc, enjoy and have a $10 beer (or are they more now) for me bro!

Petr Mrazek vs. Vancouver: .938 save percentage plus a great assist on the winning goal.

Dylan Larkin vs. Vancouver: 2 shots, 1 hit, 2 takeaways, plus 1, 60% winning faceoffs - not bad for one of the top rookies this season.

Gustav Nyquist vs. Vancouver: elite sniper wins it in OT.

Zetterberg and Tatar: solid as usual.

Finally, the habs have lost a game!

They got clobbered by Brendan Prust and his Vancouver Canucks by a score of 5-1 last night. Prust played great in the first period, getting a goal and an assist against his former team. He was injured later in the game. And yes, Carey Price was between the pipes for Montreal. Back to reality???

Congrats to automatic future Hall of Famer Henrik Zetterberg on tallying his 500th career assist and 800th career point in leading the Wings to their 5-3 victory over the Sens tonight.

Glad you agree:smile: You'll probably also be very pleased that Henrik's next goal will be his 300th. And as you know Henrik's other abilities (defensive play, character, courage, sportsmanship, leadership, guidance, etc.) are even more valuable than the impressive points he puts up. A great player!
