WOW....what an appetizer....lol.....belle victoire 3-2 des PANTHERS...avec un gardien en feu....bonne game......
Battle of Florida! Very hard for me to root against TB because my parents used to live in TB and I watched the games whenever I visited, but Florida is the better team.

Can you guys explain to me how it is that the Habs played Charlie Lindgren only 20 games in 6 years, and he goes over to the Capitals and he is now the starting goalie on a playoff team? How does this happen?
If you remember well we already have un certain gardien named CAREY PRICE....and a second named JAKE ALLEN....so Charlie did not have opportunity here....and few games he played was not that great.....not impressive...so good for him to enjoy the moment.

Did you guys see the aggressive forecheck by LaFreniere which set up the goal by Panarin to make it 2-0? After the goal the Caps slashed LaFreniere in apparent retaliation and the refs missed it.

Not sure if it will be a long series, I mean, the Jets have one of the best defense in the league and Avs goalie seems very shaky to say the least. The high number of goals against Winnipeg might just be a momentary mishap, we’ll see.

I am now second guessing the Avs. Is their defense championship calibre with Georgiev and his .899 % in goal? The dude was a backup for years with the Rangers, for a reason. I don't think their defense is as good as when they won the Cup with that German goalie a few years back.

This team like the Leafs seems to have a mantra of "we will outscore you." Those mantras historically go down in smoke and flames in the playoffs when they come up against real defensive teams.

It worked got the Oilers in the 80's but it was a different game then.
The Winnipeg Colorado game was entertaining last night, the Dallas Vegas game will be interesting today.

Oilers had a ball of fame goalie in Grant Fuhr and a HOF defenseman in Paul Coffey. As you said was a different game then and Georgiev isn't Fuhr. I personally think Avs have a big weakness there.

Also isn't this the 2nd game in a row in which they allowed 7 goals to Winnipeg? The other game was a 7-0 shutout loss. The Jets do not strike me as an offensive juggernaut.

Yeah Georgiev’s numbers are pretty weak and his body language after a goal says it all. I don’t watch much west association games and I am very surprised by the Avalanche’s weakness in the goal, doesn’t make sense for a team that is considered a serious contender.

What can't be forgotten here is the fight Georgiev had with his teammate Tony D'Angelo when both were with the NY Rangers. While D'Angelo is no choirboy and has had behavioral issues for multiple teams, the fight also revealed how thin-skinned Georgiev is. A miscommunication between Georgiev and D'Angelo in a game against the Penguins in 2021 led to a game winning OT goal by Sidney Crosby. My recollection is both players were at fault. Afterward, according to published reports in the Athletic confirmed by 2 NY Rangers "sources" who witnessed the fight, D'Angelo said to Georgiev sarcastically, "make a fucking save!!!"
Georgiev then punched D'Angelo. The Rangers almost immediately waived D'Angelo, although he had just been signed to a big extension after scoring 53 points in 68 games. So they got rid of a talented young defenseman (who was admittedly on thin ice from other incidents), and the backup goalie who lost the game and committed the violence suffered no consequences. This incident never sat well with me. It also was revealing to me of Georgiev's character. Reportedly, D'Angelo and Georgiev had hated each other for years going back to 2017-18 when they were teammates in Hartford.

These behaviors bother me because you win and lose as a team. Both players had a hand in the loss of that game. But 2 wrongs don't make a right. Best thing Georgiev could have done was said to De'Angelo, "we both fucked up, let's try and be on the same page next time." Punching D'Angelo for stating an arguable truth, however inappropriate the comment, was not the answer.
