Moving one step closer to being the winner of the $50,000 , I confidently address those who were laughing at my 5k bet. "In your face!"

The Oilers won mostly due to limiting the SOG, 17 this time and 15 last game. Hope they can do the dame to Dallas but high expectations. Hyman played very well again, the best thing to come out of Toronto.

Big credit to their new coach KRIS KNOBLAUCH/under the radar who brought new philosophy with his defensive approach....and the results are there/obvious....

Credit also to the CANUCKS....they never gave up without their star player and a brand new goaly who has been the revelation of theses playoffs.....a great year.....more to come.

I kind of feel sorry for Vancouver, because they were asked to play without Demko and then Boeser, and it's really a lot to ask when you lose players of that calibre during the playoffs. They mostly shut down heavy damage from the Oilers Star Duo, but just like when the Avs lost Nicushkin to a failed drug test, you could almost hear and see the wind escaping their balloon when Boeser went down. In addition they were saying Petersson has been playing with a lower back injury and hasn't been his 89 point regular season self. So Edmonton beat a hobbled and injury depleted team. I am sure they will take it, but it wasn't exactly a glorious victory.

I find it puzzling that many people are underestimating the Oilers. They have had a winning team for the past five years, unfortunately they always choke in the playoffs . However, I believe they have gained valuable playoff experience and are now more mature team then previous years. Winning 16 consecutive games in the NHL is a significant achievement and could pave the way to the Stanley Cup finals. I wouldn't have placed a $5,000 bet on Edmonton to win the cup just before the playoffs began if I didn't have confidence in them. For those familiar with hockey, it's evident that the Edmonton Oilers are strong contenders for the Stanley cup. The series against Dallas is expected to be challenging, as both teams have matured this year and share similar playoff experiences, often struggling under pressure. My prediction is that Edmonton will clinch the series in six games, or at most seven games, with a low-scoring game and decided by a single goal.

Florida and Dallas are the decisive Vegas favorites, and in my opinion that's for good cause. Vegas has Florida as a slight favorite over Dallas if those 2 teams make the Finals
It's worrying to note that Vegas, are favourite Dallas and Florida as Stanley cup winners , but I'm sticking to my prediction that Edmonton will make it to the Stanley Cup and win the Stanley cup .Their remarkable 16-game winning streak in the regular season, along with their maturity and playoff experience, set them apart. As a side note, the Rangers will beat Florida.

TEAM CANADA has a perfect record 7-0...best in preliminary round....BUT serious business starts tomorrow/quarters vs SLOVAQUIE and SLAF..... GO CANADA.
Slovakia beat Team USA 5-4 in OT. Dangerous team.

BTW Cole Caulfield had 2 goals and 2 assists in Team USA win yesterday over Latvia, which eliminated Latvia.

IMHO Canada has the way easier bracket in the QFs. Canada just has to get by Slovakia and then Switzerland or Germany. USA needs to beat Czech and Sweden. Canada should have been put in that bracket and given 2 very hard games.

I checked betway yesterday and the Oilers were 2.15 and the Stars 1.75. I do think the Oilers will win but not enough for a decent bet :)
Thank you for sharing your predictions. Just before the playoffs began, the odds for Edmonton to win the cup were set at +900. In my opinion, this line was a pleasant surprise. I believe it should have been closer to +600, but due to Edmonton's history of poor playoff performances and tendency to falter under pressure in the playoffs, the odds were underrated. As for Dallas being favored, it likely has to do with the fact that they are playing at home tomorrow. Nevertheless, it may still be a good opportunity to place a bet on the underdog Edmonton , as there is potential to profit even when choosing the less favored team.

The main reason is in the net! Also this year their defense has been quite off in the playoffs.
I agree with you that Edmonton has struggled with their goaltending , additionally, their defense as been a disaster.

Their strong offense has been the key factor in their success thus far.

However, in the recent games, their defense and goaltending have stepped up and contributed to their victories.

Regardless, I have 8 more games to win for my $50,000 prize, and if I succeed, I plan to go on a rampage like never before with service providers.

I am confident that Edmonton will win and claim the Stanley Cup.If I win, it will benefit everyone on this forum.
