Physically and mentally, Tua isn’t built for the NFL. If you heard his comments about Brian Flores a couple of weeks ago, you knew this kid is soft as a marshmallow. Someone who wilts in the crucible of December and January football. Contrast that with a Brady or a Jordan, who’d take any insult and cradle it lovingly, letting it gnaw on him and fester, and continuously act as motivation to push him to greatness. But Tua… nah, kid just needs a hug. Some players just don’t have “it.” Might as well retire, and save a lot of people from some heartache.

My guess is that Tua will resume his career as soon as he gets medical clearance. He loves the game & it’s just too much money to leave on the table. He also played the entire season last year. Anyways it’s his decision to make & every concussion cases are different. I know people who got just one concussion playing a sport & never played again. I know others who had many & they always came back. Take a boxer or UFC fighter. They probably have some type of concussion every time they fight. Yet they chose to carry on with their careers since this is what they signed up for. NFL football or NHL hockey are contact sports & players feel no different. Concussions happen & they come with the territory.

Speaking of Tua his younger brother Taulia plays with the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the CFL. He’s their starting QB.

I got a tip for you guys: do not touch the Chargers-Panthers tomorrow. Stay away from this game!
I have. Although the Chargers are favored by a field goal they’re on the road, there’s a lot of uncertainty about the team & maybe Carolina isnt as bad as people are saying. I know some fellow gamblers who have put big money on them not winning a single game this season! As for me i predict they’ll win 1 or 2. Not more.

I’m more interested in the SF/Minnesota game. I’m hearing that McCaffery may possibly go on IR due to a calf injury which doesnt seem to be healing. He’s been battling injuries throughout his NFL career & he’s a key to the Niners overcoming the Lions, Eagles & Cowboys to return to the Superbowl. I’d also keep my eyes on the Rams.

One other game I can wait to watch & hope it’ll be shown in my area is the Jets-Titans game. Go Titans! Lol

Doc’s NFL picks
Raiders vs Baltimore (-8.5) I pick the Ravens to cover.
Saints vs Cowboys (-6.5) I pick the Cowboys to cover.
Atlanta vs Eagles (-6.5) I pick the Eagles to cover.
Giants vs Washington (-1.5) I pick the Commanders to cover.
Bengals vs KC (-6.5) I pick the Chiefs to cover.
Bears vs Houston (-6.5) I pick the Texans to cover.

Reasons
-Raiders are not a good team while the Ravens are one of the best in the AFC. Great QB, very good defence. Balt at home.
-Saints are not in the same league as Dallas & the Cowboys always hard to beat at home.
-Atlanta on the road against one of the NFC’s best.
-Giants suck & so do the Commanders. But i hate Daniel Jones also so i’ll go with the home team.
-Bengals in disarray & Tee Higgins is out. KC rolling & playing at Arrowhead where they’re nearly unbeatable.
-Bears have very good defence but rookie QB in over his head right now. Houston is a very well balanced team & playing at home.

The Niners put McCaffery on IR today which means he’ll miss at least the next 4 games. On top of his ailing calf muscle i found out that his biggest problem is his achilles tendon.it’s been described as tendinitis & the problem has been ongoing for some time & making it nearly impossible for him to run. Hopefully for him & the Niners this problem will heal on its own & avoid surgery. If he has to undergo surgery this season his season would likely be over.

With Mason having a big 1st game, there's no rush to bring McCaffery back into the starting roster

Mason looked like a beast in game 1 and he was VERY GOOD the past 2 years as a backup to McCaffrey. This is his chance to explode and it would not be a surprise if he became one of the top RB in rhe NFL this year.

True. However the Jets running defence was absolutely atrocious in that game. I think i could have picked up half the yardage he got myself! Time will tell how good he’ll be. I suppose it’ll depend on the opportunities to play he’ll get.

True that there’s no rush right now. But it has more to do with the Niners having so many other weapons available. McCaffrey’s ability to catch the ball is also a big part of his game & why he’s such a difference maker. I’m curious how Mason will perform against teams with better run defences than the Jets. Or if Deebo or Kittle get injured. Or god forbid Brock Purdy, who’s skill set is perfect for this offence.

Mason performed very well the last 2 years when he had opportunities. His opportunities to play were limited. Now is his chance to shine and with the OL he has and his running style he should do so.

If you think the jets run D is bad wait until they face the vikings. They had one of the worse run defense last year.

Any bets today Doc??
Looking forward to Burrow v Mahomes!
I posted my picks last night. Post #109.
I’ve lost faith in Burrow. I’m starting to think his season two years ago may have been an aberration.
The games i was most looking forward to see are on right now. Jets-Titans, TB-Detroit, Niners-Vikings.

Last year is last year & this year is this year. Maybe they’ve addressed their problems during the offseason.
As for the Jets it looks like the same terrible offensive line. I’ve told a lot of people last season that Zack Wilson wouldn’t look as bad as he did if he had a decent offensive line. Playing behind such a poor offensive line would cause any young QB to lose his confidence. It may be a long season for Aaron Rogers if this is still the case.
