Gaby you didn't mention Derek Carr perfect 158.3 QB rating through 3 quarters.

Only 2 perfect games were thrown last year. Lamar Jackson had one can't recall who had the other.

Gaby- Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is the NFL coach of the week. He reminds me of a MERB member who shall remain nameless:

Every time Cincinnati and KC play I think back fondly of the LSU team of 2019 which had Joe Burrow at QB, Clyde Edwards Helaire at RB, and JaMarr Chase and Justin Jefferson at WR. That team went 15-0, and blew everyone away in route to a national championship. Joe Burrow won the Heisman Trophy and was unconscious. I really feel like that was the best NCAA football team, ever.

I posted my picks last night. Post #109.
I’ve lost faith in Burrow. I’m starting to think his season two years ago may have been an aberration.
The games i was most looking forward to see are on right now. Jets-Titans, TB-Detroit, Niners-Vikings.
I missed that. My bad!!!

Now that’s an absolute shocker! Holy shit! Not only did Jerry Jones’ team lose but they got blown away in their own stadium! I confess that i absolutely under-estimated the Saints!

In other games the Jets were fortunate to escape with a victory. The Raiders shocked everyone by beating the Ravens on the road. The Niners lost against the Vikings who may have lost Justin Jefferson to a serious injury. The Packers won against the Colts. The Giants lost again against Washington in a boring hame involving two of the worse teams in football. The Seakawks barely squeaked by the Pats in OT & the Booker Mayfield-led Bucs surprised the Lions in Detroit. Hopefully Amon-ra St.Brown’s leg injury isn’t too serious.

Tough betting day for the Doc!

WOW.....CHIEFS 26 BENGALS 25...as often a win on the last play.......BURROW had a better day.....BUT CHAMPS always find their way to win.....again CHIEFS did it with a quiet day for PAT.

The Bengals were the better team, but lost on a really bad play by their CB drawing a pass interference call on a ball that probably wasn't going to be caught.

Meanwhile- Travis Kelce in 2 games 4 catches 39 yards. These are not exactly all pro stats. Towards the end of last season he looked like he was declining as a player. The decline continues.

KC gave Noah Gray a nice new contact just before the start of the season.

I suspect Kelce told the owner, GM, someone, that this would be his last year, OR, his play in preseason was notably much worse.
If I were a betting man, I’d say it’s the former, but 2 passes a game, without Hollywood Brown in the mix, yah, that’s concerning.

Bryce Young Benched!
Former #1 Overall Draft Pick, taken ahead of CJ Stroud. You think the Panthers want that one back? They brought in QB Whisperer Dave Canales to straighten him out and it didn't happen. I had concerns about his size but it should be noted that he won the Heisman Trophy in college and was the #1 recruit in America coming out of high school. There were concerns about his size mainly, but the fact that he has been this bad is a shock I think within the football community. He was an overall #1 draft pick who to date has shown nothing in the NFL. The GM who drafted him has already been fired so I don't think Young has any future in Carolina, and maybe not in the NFL. The CFL is where he might be soon.

The PI was a key play but Jamar Chase’s temper tantrum & resulting unsportsmanlike penalty also hurt the Bengals. However the Bengals know that they deserved a better fate yesterday & showed me they will likely still contend in the AFC. Baltimore is a team that should be worried considering that Pittsburgh is 2-0 & playing good ball with that very good defence.

As for Kelce he very likely could be declining & it’s also quite possible all the media attention he’s constantly been getting since he started dating Taylor Swift may be hurting his focus on football. He nearly looked invisible yesterday & this really surprised me.

RB Isiah Pacheco is now out of the regular season with a broken leg (fibula). That won’t help! Now they’re bringing in former Chief Kareem Hunt to see if he’d consider joining the team. He may help but he’s no Pacheco.

The first time i saw him play last season i told a buddy of mine “Holy shit! This guy is way too small to play QB in the NFL!” My buddy told me to be patient. That he had won the Heisman. I replied “I know but he won in college!” I told him it was stupid on their part not to pick CJ Stroud instead. Or Will Levis. My buddy just called me when he got news of the benching & said “I admit that you were totally right about Bryce Young!” The thing is that it’s extremely difficult for any young QB to start his NFL career with a crappy team. Many star QBs in college need more time to develop. Take Booker Mayfield, whom i always liked & i had told another buddy who’s a big Niners fan that Booker Mayfield would be a perfect addition to the Niners offence at the time they were looking to find a replacement for Jimmy Garrapolo & ended up trading up to draft Tre Lance with the first QB chosen in the draft three years ago. I’m not even sure if he’s still in the NFL!

You are correct. Bryce Young would be perfect for the CFL. If he gained experience & confidence starring in the CFL he could end up being offered a job in the NFL to revitalize his career.

My pick for tonight’s MNF game

Atlanta vs Philadelphia (-5.5)

I’m picking the Eagles to cover even if star receiver AJ Brown is out. Expect a big game from Shaquan Barkley. The game may be a tight one & the Falcons may very well end up upsetting the Eagles but the Eagles are on prime time tv & will want to show the world that they’re for real & once again superbowl contenders.

Quality breakdown!

I’m leaning Philly to cover as well. It’s not so much that I’m a huge believer in the team, it’s just that I don’t think Cousins looks right behind C. Last week he struggled to move around in the pocket, and as a result, the had issues moving the ball. Toss in the fact that’s it’s a road game, yah. Give me Philly here by 7.
