I would have made the Tkachuk brothers night a real nightmare, so is for Miller. Harassing them with nasty cheap shots all night.
Harassing the Tkachuks with "nasty cheap shots" all night was not going to work. Team USA is going to be hard to score against and you don't want to give them easy PP goal opportunities to pad leads that will be very difficult or impossible to overcome. Also, it is easier said than done to harass a Tkachuk.

Pretty even game in my opinion. Difference was one team has the world’s #1 goaltender & the other team doesn’t. Sure Binny was weak on the first goal. But you can’t expect to win a game when you only score 1 goal. This isn’t soccer.

As for people who pointed out a lack of chemistry. Well of course. They only practiced together for a few days. So it actually would be surprising if they did have chemistry. That’s why Coop used more Tampa players in this tournament. Other than the Tampa players the rest of the team never really played together including the defensive pairs. That’s why in past Olympics the staff often chose groups of players familiar to one another & of course it would often cause people to complain & once they won the gold those same people would say it was brilliant!

The Americans played a perfect game. But the most important game will be the final. That perfect game from last night will be hard to match. Even the game was fairly even Canada could have still played better & i expect them to as losing the game will allow them to tinker a bit. If i were them i’d use the last game as an opportunity to scout & re-evaluate. Losing this game may be a blessing in disguise since they were likely to meet in the final game anyway.

Quinn Hughes is just as good a player as Makar (just not as hyped) and Team USA was without him. Stop making excuses for deserved losses. Team Canada got punked on home ice! Deal with it man! Canada will get another shot anyway.

Not really, we’ve seen both of them "fold " during certain games where, the heat got to them, from true tough players.
I’ve personally seen them (especially Brady) undergo a major meltdown when an opponent has been able to touch a nerve. That’s his big problem. He has a lot of difficulty controlling his emotions. And his knack of starting fights when the game is clearly over needs to stop. It makes him look like a sore loser. He also needs to stop always getting goaded into fights. He’s one of the Sens’ best players & spending too much time in the penalty doesn’t help the team. Especially when he’s team captain. However i’ve met both of them in the past & they’re great guys & i’d take any of them on my team anytime! I’ve also met Big Walt in the past & the kids are a chip off the old block!

In order to clench their spot in the final, Canada needs to beat the Finnish flat and square , in regular time. Which is far from being done considering how we struggled to beat Sweden. But then again, hockey is all about momentum so, everything is possible!

Wished so much we had brought along Tom Wilson from the Capitals. But who new this in December when they made the teams
He would have been far more worthy a fight opponent than either of the 2 bozos the Tkachuks tussled with. But this is why the USA started the fights to begin with. Because of what Canadian bullies like Wilson did to them in past competitions. That, and it was all homage to Keith Tkachuk and his stand against Canadian bullying in the 1996 WCH (which by the way worked and Tkachuk starred in that tournament along with Brett Hull and John LeClair, remember them???). Bullies stop being bullies when you stand up to them in hockey - just like how you deal with bullies in the real world. You all got a real world taste of reality care of the Tkachuks.

I believe Canada will beat Finland and will have another shot at Team USA in the final.

It changed the attitude of Team USA and said to the team, "we will not be bullied!!!!!" Just like in 1996 when they went after the Canadian bullies Keith Primeau and Claude Lemieux. It is hockey psychology.
It didnt change anything to the game, never did and never will. All players know that. Once the "Storm" has passed its hockey time and nobody is gonna think twice before applying a body check to whoever gets in the way.

Actually, it did. It seems that Matthew Tkachuk was cheap-shotted and did not play the last 12:36 of the game because of a lower body injury that has his status in doubt.
"Matthew Tkachuk sat out the final 12:36 of the third period with a lower-body injury. Team USA coach Mike Sullivan said Tkachuk "is continuing to be evaluated," and he wouldn't reveal the Florida Panthers star's status for Monday's game against Sweden."

Still the moment is being called transcendant and a great moment for hockey, in any event:

Again- this was all about instilling pride and guts in their teammates and rallying them to the cause. The posts reflect a misunderstanding of this event, it is about playing for NATION, not TEAM. What matters most is the name on the front of the jersey and the Tkachuks rallied their teammates as if singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic.
