Yeah he’s playing but he won’t be 100%. Shea Theodore’s injury is already starting to affect the team defensively. I expect Aidan Hill to start since Binnington was very shaky during regular time the other night. Any news who’s starting?

Although his back-up buddy is also a top of the line goalie, Hellebuyck is in a class of his own. He’s a beast, plays +60 games per season, leads the league for shutout, GAA and save %. No doubt, Hellebuyck is intimidating to any player in the NHL, even the best ones.

Imho, he’s the biggest advantage Team USA has over their opponents and it might be enough to win the tournament.

Bennington is the goaler tonigh, it's confirmed.. I 'm on my knees and i pray ha ha ha .
I'd like to see in the NHL 10 minutes of overtime instead of 5,.

I think so far the weak answer from Cooper, regarding the 9 opening seconds of the game is playing against him. I would have made the Tkachuk brothers night a real nightmare, so is for Miller. Harassing them with nasty cheap shots all night.

Oh well, you know what? Despite the tight score I never felt Canada was really competing. Too many players that didnt really belong there. I think Bennett, Marchand, Cirelli, Sanheim, Doughty were very questionable sélections. But thats just my opinion.

I think a player like Marchand has his place, but there in no chemistry in this team, not just talent to win games, it's a combinaison of several éléments that form a whole. Bennington gave up two had goals again, not sûre Monday that Canada will beat Finland..........
The first period was very good, the third was very ordinary for players of this caliber.

Was it February 2025 or 1970s with the Broad Street bullies playing against Russia ?

The opening was necessary to send the message to the Canadians that "the bullying stops and it stops tonight". However, the tournament is not over yet. USA has clinched a berth in the finals. Canada still has to beat Finland and Laine.

The Tkachuks were inspired by their father, who did the same thing with US GM Bill Guerin to stop the Canadian bullying in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, won by Team USA over Canada in the finals:

"It was the fastest fight to start an NHL international game, topping the previous record of 20 seconds in 1996 when Canada's Keith Primeau and Claude Lemieux fought Team USA's Keith Tkachuk and Bill Guerin in the World Cup of Hockey. Guerin is the U.S. general manager in the 4 Nations Face-Off, and Tkachuk is Matthew and Brady's father -- although Matthew denied that his father's history influenced his and Brady's actions."
