The term "boyfriend" can describe lots of relationships.

Yes, the term is so loosely used in today's world it could be anyone the lady is being intimate with if only just for sex. That's not a boyfriend/girlfriend in my book.
It shouldn't matter if she does have anyone or not, though I personally have drawn the line against any lady I know is married. If we want to participate in this hobby we have to see it as a business relationship, not a dating scene where we start probing into their personal lives. So whether she does or doesn't is irrelevant.
However, just for the sake of numbers I find 99% ridiculous. It's possible, and I'm sure many clients try to cross the business line, so she has every opportunity if she wishes to pick someone. Still, I've know some of the hottest and most sought after escorts because of their service performance and charm and a number of them were often not in a real BF relationship at the time. They were dating, maybe wishfully hoping an intimate partner would turn out to be a BF, but it was often something transitory lacking that real SO connection.
I believe that for a significant percentage of escorts their situation is a lot like everyone else outside the hobby. They're looking, not looking, hoping, experimenting, think they have someone, unsure, just partying, etc. It would be only a guess to put a number on it, but for 99% of escorts to have a BF seems impossible. I think the real situation is much closer to how Vajatron described it, and similar to how it is for good looking girls outside the business...often transitory. Unless you define BF as just knowing someone to get it on with or someone they're just "hooking up" with it's not 99%.
Good luck,
Merlot
